Baa Baa Baaarnabaa was a NZ citizen, held dual citizenship. He is ineligible to be in Parliament, but due to Libs having no ethics he is still in Parliament, illegally!

Cod's the constitution  doesn't ask where you were born it asks if you are a dual citizen.

You must understand that ?

Yes, and having been born here with an Australian birth certificate and Australian passport he had every reason to believe he was not a citizen of another country.

And let's all just ignore (if you can without smirking) that his Old Man was a Kiwi and he well knew it.

"if " found illegal by the courts he can be asked too repay his wages by the commonwealth  ;D  However tradition dictates the Parliament will vote to wavier them ( as pollies will always look after each other).
Mind you traditionally the MP has always stood down before facing court.
The question I can't find a answer too is he still going to get his Parliament pension that he is clearly not entitled too as he wasn't entitled to be a MP in the very first place?

Does anyone know?

Baaarnaby is a NZ citizen and that makes all the difference.

The situation of all 3 is identical, they are all Australians who had dual citizenship that they were unaware of.

None of them were eligible to have stood for election and are all automatically disqualified when it becomes known.

You would need an award for every coalition member and supporter - they are all special in their own way.

The coalition is pretty incompetent if they can't find any ALP MPs in similar bind - from all the coalition supporters on this forum making comments you think it would be easy to get one by now.

Seems Lab & Lib vet their candidates but Greens/Nats/Phonies don’t.

I try not to make a point of pointing and laughing at people's misfortunes - karma could always bite back.

Sadly, coalition keep getting more than they can chew.  Be a gracious winner - you never know when chips go down.

That tradition applies to those with the integrity to resign when they find out that they were never legally elected. Not so sure about the ones who take it to the high court and cost us more money.

I look forward to the ongoing drama. After all, politics in Australia consists majorly of soap opera garbage.

Now we have others getting wormed out of the woodwork.
:) :)
Shows you just what a f'n JOKE these pollies are. Easy Peasy, pay me a pension for life. >:(

Indeedee  do. Howard was the malign spore of our current day Libs. A curse on his name for what he did to Australia. >:( >:( >:(

SEE ?  I lived here then. I was alive in the Howard era. I saw the spawning of a malign form of liberalism which has never recovered from his influence. His pawns remain.

Curse on your house Howard, and all your acolytes.
