Title: Other environmental issues Post by Jovial Monk on Jul 23rd, 2017 at 7:14am
Since AGW is as settled a theory as any theory can be what other issues could be discussed?
1. GBR 2. Sea level rise and adaptation/mitigation (move towns or build sea defences?) 3. Bee colony deaths 4. GMO and the escape of frankengenes into nature, especially weed species 5. Superbugs and the search for a brand new kind of antibiotic 6. The antivaxx movement 7. Deforestation 8. Switch to nuclear energy for power generation? 8. Any others? |

Pretty much zero, Booby. But one study is still ongoing.

Bee colony deaths are concerning: bees provide vital pollination services.

An interesting theory that is being explored by those with an open mind. |

It is an excuse used by Dubyne to mask the fact that he is talking rubbish! Please, keep the Dubyne bullshit to your stupid Ice Age thread, yeah? |

Another important issue: As AGW keeps warming the world causing more and more evaporation followed by higher and higher precipitation we are seeing pests and diseases spread. Mosquitoes just love the warmer, wetter world we are making.
This heating and flooding is having detrimental effects on our main food crops. |

Yes, really. My next post in Relationships discusses a paper showing just that.
A minutes thought would show you that this is likely. |

Poor Booby clinging desperately to Dubyne’s nonsense and lies about an imminent ice age.
Notice he won’t do a bit of googling to check the hypothesis about GCRs. Talk about brainwashed! |

I have consistently stated that as the world warms there will be more evaporation from the oceans. Is there anything wrong with that claim? The water vapor will condense when it moves over land etc. |

Yeah ~ ape shìt. Good point. It's the Third World countries that are ripping up the forests, and so the Lefties are reluctant to make a song-and-dance about it just as the feminists don't want to talk about Islam's view of women. |

You mean like - "Japan, China, and South Korea are bankrolling environmentally destructive coal-fired power plants in Indonesia despite their pledges to reduce climate-changing emissions under the Paris climate deal, analysts told the Thomson Reuters Foundation. Australia-based environmental finance organization Market Forces said it analyzed 22 coal power deals in Indonesia since January 2010 and found state-run financiers for the three nations were involved in 18 of them. In all, foreign banks, both commercial and state-owned, are providing 98 percent of the debt finance for the projects, amounting to $16.7 billion." https://www.csmonitor.com/World/2017/0719/Japan-China-and-South-Korea-violate-Paris-agreement-by-funding-coal-in-Indonesia ? |
