Title: Thread Titles
Post by Aussie on Jun 19th, 2017 at 2:22pm
Can there be a Rule that Thread Titles give a clear indication what the Thread is about?

One commenced today.....titled, 'Oh oh'.....and the subject was that murdering areshole  mowing down people near a Mosque.

Can you put some pants on your golfing toad?  He is very rude.

Here's a suggestion.

I went for a 8km run before dinner. We had roast chicken thighs with soy and tamarind marinade,  roast vege and rice.I'm still hungry so I'm have a bowl of porridge.

I wish the thread title reflected what I just posted about.

This annoys me too, but we are not going to make a rule about it.

It certainly annoys me ... a lot of thread titles are beyond ambiguous and opening one after another only to find some member is merely talking crap does little to inspire interaction with the forum.

In phpBB there is an extention called "Topic Preview"
Quote:
Topic Preview displays a short excerpt of text from the first post in a tooltip while the mouse hovers over a topic’s title.

https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/topicpreview/

I've looked for it's like in YaBB, but the search function doesn't seem to work on their support forum.
That being said it must be available as can be seen from the screen shot bellow.

Installing the appropriate extension would be a very welcome move.

(I had to draw my courser in as it didn't show up in the screen shot)

That'd be a good idea but it could only do so much.  Better than nothing I suppose.
