Title: Our police must be better trained as to the law.
Post by Lord Herbert on Apr 10th, 2017 at 8:44am
Here we see a copper who doesn't know the law with regard to someone running a camera on him.

Something as simple as this should be well-known to every constable.

I view it as an actual breach of the law that a uniformed officer should demand someone turn off their camera. If he was out of uniform - yes - demand the guy turn off the camera - but as a uniformed officer representing the law, he has no right both officially or as a private citizen to make this demand.

Where the copper was right, was ordering the citizen to make the licence plate more secure - in fact I was surprised he let the cyclist go without accompanying him to a hardware store to buy the bolt needed.

I otherwise believe motorcycle cops have Balls of Steel to face a hostile public 8 hours a day - 5 days a week.  ;D

Here it is.

They do get above the law and themselves at times... I've had a cop order me to turn off a camera while she was harassing me, and I refused.  Nothing she could do.

One reason I haven't so much as copped a parking ticket for nearly twenty years is that nowadays there are cameras everywhere and a requirement for evidence, not just the good old days of picking some bloke on his own out at random and 'rousting' him, which would appear to be the case here.  Got the car camera and always stick to the limits....

I am watching everything.

Have you noticed that little white spot in the bottom-righthand corner of your TV set ... ? Hmmm ... ? And a slight glint of something glassy like a lens behind the ceiling exhaust fan in the bathroom ... ? Hmmm ... ? And that Huntsman spider near the ceiling in the bedroom that's been there for ages and makes a whirring sound when you're drying off after a shower ... ? Hmmmmmm ..... ?

Codsey ~ I went to a private boarding school where we were taught that mediocrity is for lazy, careless people whose personal output is only just enough to get them from being sacked from their jobs.

These are the ones who put their feet up on the seats in the trains and don't use the bins for their litter.

The ones who crawl along in the fast lane.

Interesting.

What are they afraid of? Evidence against them that can be used in a court of law. Especially keep the audio going. Record what they're saying.

I dress like a Postie with a luminous safety jacket and ride along the pavements most of the time, and so they bypass me with not a second glance, and beside that, I live in a high-density bogan district which means every time I see a police car it's travelling WAY above the speed limit to catch up with some hoon on a motorcycle or someone beating the sh!t out of his girlfriend outside a pub.

One traffic cop wanted to fine me $630 as a first offence because my electric bike isn't registered to be on the main roads. I waited for the bill to arrive, but it never came. If he catches me again it will be a $1260 fine, and so I've been sticking to the back roads and alleyways for a while now.

I also installed a secret switch that lowers the power output to what is legal on the roads. If I see a cop, I flick this switch - and I'm 'legal' ...

The latest recruits in Qld.  Fairbloodydinkum.  Barely out of nappies some of them, and best of all, we have a Zimbabwean Pommie Plod among 'em.

Link.

Jayzuz wept.  There ought be a minimum age of at least 25.  Fancy allowing those babies to wander around with immense power and a gun.

If some of them came anywhere near me, I could not possibly take them seriously.

The greatest reduction in 'charges' of 'assaulting police', 'intimidating police', etc, came about in this country from the introduction of cameras in all police patrol vehicles and all police stations, and in the inclusion of helmet cameras in the helmets of special operations police.

I was advised - as a retired security officer and Commonwealth public servant, that I was entitled to record ANY proceedings between police and myself.

Did you notice the-elephant-in-the-room in that link?

;D ;D ;D

Shouldn't laugh.

It confirms that 'stereotypes' are almost always correct, if not PC.

A group of smiling white-as-snow faces to the left of the screen representing law-and-order and socially responsible individuals ... and then to the right of the screen we have a video roll-call of a rogues' gallery composed overwhelmingly of Darkies representing law-and-disorder and socially irresponsible individuals.

'Jayzuz wept', indeed.
