If their take on open and transparent government is to obfuscare and cover their tracks, this says a lot about an administration that claimed to be taking government back to the people.

I agree with your point. My point is their denial of proven facts is most newsworthy, and it's good to see Spicer face the press and have to stutter through it.

It was also newsworthy to see Trump leave his own press opportunity/executive order as soon as the press started asking questions. The executive order?

It stayed on the Oval Office desk, unsigned.
