Title: Dinner
Post by Lisa Jones on Mar 9th, 2017 at 6:30pm
We had roast lamb shanks with roast potatoes and carrots tonight. As per usual, I threw lots of chopped up onion, chopped up tomatoes and some fresh garlic into the oven pot 1st....along with salt/pepper/oregano/rosemary etc.

There's nothing left lol.

And to think...I cooked extra  ::)

Hi Lisa,
I wish I could have the leftovers.

I will buy a pizza tonight as I'm too tired to cook.

Hi dear Lisa,
It would be nice to open the door at night after a hard days work
& have the smell of herbs simmering on the stove to greet my nostrils
but alas that's only a dream for 99% of married men.

I've got chicken drumsticks on the menu for tomorrow night.

I've got them marinating in the fridge atm.

Not sure what else to add....maybe mash potatoes and a salad.

Bunnies AND Bulldogs fan here.

It's a family thing lol.

And ummm no....I'm half Italian/half Greek.

I know that the Lebs have now taken over the Bulldog fan base.

However, we've been avid fans from way back .... late 70's when a Greek guy (Dr George Peponis) captained the team.

OMG the Bulldogs just scored !!!!!!

I wanted Thai takeaway but firstborn dragged a friend home from school and they begged Mrs Gordy for some of her legendary chicken scnhizzy.

I think she uses a little bit of rice flour with the wheat flour and breadcrumbs, and it's simply the best I've ever tried. I little closer to a chicken katsu.

cazzo
Italian word for "dick".

Sorry, dick may be on the menu at your house, but we had some lovely freerange chicken breast.

Please stop talking about penises in the food section or we'll start calling you Bobby.

Hey, did you get around to getting yourself a kettlebell yet?
I really think a good hard swinging session would help with your negative emotions.

My offer is always open, if you're ever in Nth Bondi PM me and we can have a workout at the beach then I'll take you for a vegan latte.

Why? It doesn't seem to have worked for you, hateful and negative as you are. And a ridiculous little gossip at that.

Hi dear Lisa,
It would be nice to open the door at night after a hard days work
& have the smell of herbs simmering on the stove to greet my nostrils
but alas that's only a dream for 99% of married men.

Why don't you get a  lovely wife from Thailand?

I prefer being single -
every woman I ever met created a truckload of problems for me.

You need to meet a smart European woman.

All the ones I know are married. :P

Hi Lisa,
I'm happy being single.

Wouldn't you like to come home to a nice green curry simmering on the stove?

Mmmm Thai food, think I'll pop out for some T/A tonight.

Hi Gordon,
When you marry those girls from Thailand etc you
end up marrying the whole family &
50% of your wages are garnished by your wife to support them.

No thanks - that's an expensive curry.

I'm not a real estate agent -
if I was I'd own 20 properties by now & be a multi millionaire.

My advice to any young person -
don't go to Uni to be a scientist or whatever -
become a real estate agent.

Even more ironic than Gordy calling me negative.

But by all means, keep gossiping about me. It says more about you than is says about me.

It says i'm under your skins ..  ;D

I'm going to make some on the weekend.

Thanks for reminding me about them Gordon.  :)

Yep....we're watching the game Gordon  8-)

Wanna guess what I'm making for dinner tonight?

Yep. Salmon fishcakes.

And a nice salad of course.   :)

A bit of dill salt and pepper works well

Found this recipe Gordon.

Sounds about right IMO.

Not sure about that kale salad  :-/

Looks like ummmm....no I won't say it  :( :-X

I'd omit the horseradish. Taste tends to overdo the indredients. Maybe a dab of it on the side

I'm making a fresh Greek salad.

Why?

It does not look like mashed up chlorophyll....yuk!

Up!

I'm a fan of kale these days. After a run in the morning then a good hard kettlebell workout I put half a bunch of kale in the blender with a pear, a teaspoon of olive oil and a chunk of ginger. WOW!

I had the weber going and had just put some lovely steaks on and some eggplant,  zucchini and mushrooms on the hot plate and got a distress call from a client. I was only gone for an hr and Mrs G did her best to keep it warm but the steak was like old boots when I ate it.

I'm going to remember how tough it was when I invoice him tomorrow  :)

fkkk that.. that's the one time I don't let clients disturb me, especially if it's steak.

I'm on call 24/7, but my unwritten rule is don't call when I'm having dinner. i won't refuse to come, I'll just tell you I'm an hour away.

Listen you 2....talk dinner or GGF  :P

Ok...re dinner. Given the weather forecast (non stop rain for 40 days and 40 nights....sigh) I'm going to cook a great big awesome chicken and vegetable soup.

I hate cleaning and chopping up chicken...but it's gotta be done. Got heaps of fresh veges to chop up too but that's the easy bit.

Oh and ummm my soups are like stews.....you need a knife and fork. No other way a soup should be made ATMH.  :)

This is probably the last night of calmness before the storm!

I've got some frozen neapolitana sauce, I think I'll brown some chicken legs then simmer in the sauce for 20 mins and serve over brown rice.
