Here is a fact check on some of the President's claims.

Japanese company SoftBank announced its $100 billion technology investment fund three weeks before the U.S. elections, when Trump faced a narrow path to victory. After a December 2016 meeting with then-President-Elect Trump, SoftBank announced $50 billion would go to the United States. But the United States outpaces all other countries in venture capital investments, and it is questionable that none of the $100 billion would have gone to the vibrant and promising tech industry in America — regardless of whether Trump was elected.

If you're in politics then telling whoppers is all part of keeping the electorate happy.

Historians of the future will devote a small footnote about any exaggerations Trump might be indulging in, but their main and overwhelming focus will be about in what ways the Trump administration changed the political landscape, effected the economy, rescued the US from debt, improved the lot of ordinary Americans, dealt with immigration fraud, improved homeland security, cracked down on crime, and assisted the business community to grow and prosper and employ more people.

Little porkies and his posturing will count as nothing against these more substantive considerations.

I don't know why people bother fact checking Trump.

His supporters don't care and to them, the work done in fact checking only makes you come off as an intellectual nerd pushing a bias agenda (to Trump supporters) which only reinforces their belief in Trump's lies.

They value strength over what's right, and for now, strength is being defined as who has the loudest voice, which is great for Trump.  It's just shame that he is an incredibly weak person and leader but his supporters just can't see it.

But seriously, the Truth is important and I'm glad that I've not been the only one to fact check his speech.  Perhaps the constant corrections and highlighting of his lies may eventually penetrate through the thick skulls of some of his supporters and open their eyes to the truth.

I won't be holding my breath however.  As long as they see him as "anti establishment" which by the way, they could take his word for that during the campaign, but he's been acting like a bought and paid for politician since coming into office, they'd have to ignore so much to keep him in the "anti establishment" category, but while they're doing that, the truth is optional.

If he were grounded people pointing out actual facts to him that he doesn't like or that is counter to how he sees things he goes nuts.  That's more unhinged than grounded.

And how does that make him an Alpha?  That's hit big tell, his true weakness coming to the surface. 

There is a lot he needs to do, but a big thing is to relax and grow up.  He might have been able to get away with is for most of his life with the status and money to act like such a schoolyard bully and threaten his critics all these years, but more (should be) expected of him now that he's in the oval office.

What's more worrying, perhaps, is the Republicans just ignoring Trump and getting on with business. This is already happening, particularly as Pence travels around the world smoothing things over with foreign leaders.

Some Republicans are a real worry, and as competent and sensible as Pence presents, I'd include his Bible Belt bent.

Trump is an urban liberal by nature. He's had to reverse many of his views to get through the Republican primaries. He's gone from soft on drugs to hard on drugs, pro-choice to pro-life, for sensible gun laws to against any reform whatsoever, advocating universal health care to smashing Obamacare. Trump's liberal bent has been twisted to fit the Republican agenda.

As for the "Establishment", Trump's staffed his administration with the most corporate-friendly Establishment Republicans he could find. He'll hand policy over to the big lobbyists as all Democrats and Republicans do - as the Bushes, Clinton and Obama did. Junk food, the pharmaceutical industry, weapons manufacturers, fossil fuels, the banks and hedge funds will continue to write their own rules, no matter what Trump says about making Amerika great again.

As Trump carries on about returning government to the people, the Republicans will continue to quietly cede power to their friends. When they retire from politics, they'll continue to be given jobs as highly-paid lobbyists. The social dynamics of black enclaves has its own cultural imperatives and demands which if ignored and rejected can see the individual and his family being demonised and threatened for not subscribing to the sub-community gang's 'code'.

It's a vicious circle, and the more blacks in jail - the less is the stigma attendant upon your son or brother being in jail. Crime becomes trivialised in the Black communities by sheer weight of numbers, and the prisons system is a growth industry that soaks up thousands of blacks who would otherwise be on the unemployment queues.

Economics is clearly not the problem with all those States that rather fund their murderers for life rather than execute them within a couple of years of conviction ... and then economics is obviously not the problem with those States that do have the death penalty but whose average time before executing convicted murderers is all of 9 years.
