The announcement, which came in Trump’s preferred method of communication — a tweet — said that Trump would pass on the April dinner, which benefits a journalism scholarship and recognizes reporters for their coverage of the president and is traditionally attended by major media outlets, celebrity guests and the president.

His refusal to attend comes amid reports that media outlets like CNN and MSNBC have been considering skipping the event at the Washington Hilton.

"I will not be attending the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner this year. Please wish everyone well and have a great evening," Trump tweeted.

Trump's move comes in the heat of his ongoing battle with the media, which he has labeled the opposition party and "fake news.”

The dinner will still go on even without the president, according to the White House Correspondents Association.

You'd be right to call it a terrifying thought - the spread of Trumpshit into Australia... Because, unfortunately, we volunteer our country collectively as a vassal state to the US in just about everything.

Fortunately for the American people, your system is founded on a respected constitution with a virtually inalienable bill of rights which is honoured and loved by all citizens, rivaling (if not surpassing) that of the honour and love Europeans hold for their constitutional monarchs. Barely a day goes by without someone (politician and/or citizen) being reported as having quoted the constitution... You also have an effective Supreme Court that acts as a zealous watchdog against executive overreach.

These facts will ensure that Trump will one day (in the near future) be stopped.

As for what we discuss here about Trump - It comes directly from the US...

Pecca and smithyboy are lowest of the low. There's some dignity in mothra though. She may have some odd views but she conducts herself reasonably civilly. She seems easily influenced by those two clowns though.
