Kmart has been closing stores and downsizing for well over ten years. The passage of time hasn't been good to them. Sears is a shadow of its former self and has become a place mostly bypassed by younger shoppers. The fact that either of them are still in business is amazing, before long they will join Montgomery Ward as an expired American curiosity. Their time has passed, two 20th century businesses in a 21st century world.
