Tony Schwartz (writer of 'The Art of the Deal'), scrambling to justify Trump's inconsistencies and outright lies, coined the term 'truthful hyperbole'.

This kind of cynical self-assault on his journalistic integrity destroyed his reputation (by his own admission) among his peers and he has been apologising for it ever since.

Whether it was an error on Conway's part (intending to say something like 'alternative opinion') or an instruction from Trump (attempting his own form of 'Schwartzian' euphemism for lies) is yet to be revealed...

The world will have to wait for the answer after Conway falls out with Trump...
