my thoughts are...

they repay the money plus... and lose their career at the next election...never to be allowed anywhere near any govt...if we throw them in jail.. it will cost us more money..

lets end their career... stop it dead.. but make them sit on the back bench until it suits us to dump them from running again...everything even getting rid of Ley is costing us money.....and its money they dont pay...

we are being abused... if she or any of them were dipping their hands in their parents life savings they would be cursed by everyone...

as it is all they do is slink off and are forgotten and they live on their fat pensions..

every time they get sacked it cost money

every letter heading in the Health Dept will now be shredded and a new lot made...doesnt sound much but it is just the start of altering everything for a new minister...if she gets thrown out all together it means a bye election.. more money more waste...plus it all takes months of chaos and objections...

we are accusing them of misusing tax payers money...

well chucking them out at the time will being wasting even more....I know where I would prefer that money spent.... it would of course add to the reason for an early election...

Probably because you cannot prove a theft. From what I have read the system is very open ended, relies too much on honesty, no oversight and the pollies can point to rules that supports a claim by doing some sort of government business no matter if only slight.

1 year's jail for every $10K that a politician steals.

thats what they are getting now bobs...they have all the trips and they get then paid for.. then we find out they shouldnt have been paid by centrelink so then we go all out to get it back....in the mean time it becomes a sort of interest free loan.....

I am all for people who claim centrelink when they are not entitled to have it ... to having to repay it...I am all for that...and lets be honest I am sure most MPs are in favor also.. at least I havent seen much jumping up and down about it..

I am not talking about those who were not over paid but still told they owe money..

They always say that they're going to do something, but once the media back off, they just go back to doing exactly what they did before.

I know a few decent politicians, Steve Irons from the Libs being one, and Ben Wyatt from Labor is another.

Most of the others are just in it for themselves.

They don't give two sh!ts about the people in their electorate - they're just after the benefits.

I know a guy who got into the Senate in one particular state, and when I asked him what he was going to do, he said "sit up the back, hope nobody notices me, and do as little as possible".

I remember a long time ago..cant recall if it was a Fed member but someone was caught charging for raffle tickets this person claimed he was invited to so many fund raisers and he was always having to buy raffle tickets to show face....and he thought it was ok to get refunded....

its ENTITLEMENTS you see....we only have 150 members why should we have the need to fund an Authority to keep[ them honest...
