It's actually about time. Lady liberty will be different ethnicities on a series of coins. I find it odd they didn't make her a Native American first, however.

The protest got a bit out of hand, but they had a point of concern that the Feds chose to ignore.
The US federal government has become more frightening under this administration. I once had hopes President Obama would not do what he has, in making them frighteningly powerful.
For example, there is no reason why the IRS and BLM should have assault weapons and other military gear.

"Researchers from OpenTheBooks.com tracked spending between fiscal years 2006 and 2014 at 67 different agencies in 15 departments outside the Pentagon in a report entitled “The Militarization of America.” The organization, which refers to itself as a nonpartisan watchdog organization, unveiled the 55-page report earlier this month.
the Obama administration and its allies are pushing hard for an assault weapons ban on private citizens, taxpayers are asking why IRS agents need AR-15s. After grabbing legal power, federal bureaucrats are amassing firepower. It’s time to scale back the federal arsenal,” OpenTheBooks founder and CEO Adam Andrzejewski wrote in a Forbes magazine editorial about the report.
Researchers found that the more than 200,000 federal officers with arrest and firearm responsibilities now outnumber the 188,000 members of the Marine Corps. Administrative agencies spending on guns, ammo and military gear included the Food and Drug Administration, the Small Business Administration, the Smithsonian Institution, the Social Security Administration and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration."

Dear O dear O dear .... 'Sacred Sites' again.

Let these aborigines live off the proceeds of their 'Sacred Sites' instead of government welfare that is paid for through such things as taxes on oil production in America.

Dear O dear O dear ... when will the abos who are embedded in the West's First World civilisations ever realise just how blessed they are?

Hopefully, Trump will read them the Riot Act to behave themselves or they'll be taken off the cradle-to-grave dole.

During this time of Islamic terrorism, the more federal officers who are armed - the better.

It's not The Good Guys being armed that is a worry, it's The Bad Guys.

Very few people outside of aged-care facilities and sections of hillbilly Australia, still use the term "Negro." It smacks of Jim Crow and George Wallace.

and from what Obama says.. Muslims are a nice peace loving people... so that can't be the reason could it?

the Indians were on their own land and the US gov with its Oil buddies decided to bulldoze a pipeline straight through it...

so the Indians had every right to protest..

so then they brought in the National Guard and Military Weapons.. also blasting them with water cannons..

I worry less about the people who say "negro" than the people who say "African-American" and objectify and marginalize the people of whom they speak.
New labels, same old poo.

I find it very odd that people want to come into a post and go out of their way to pick you up on typo's, terms, punctuation and phrases that you might use..

and then...

have no opinion on the OP... very weird..  :-/

That's a 'moral-signaling' knee-jerk response, issuevoter.

If I can accept being referred to as a 'White', then they should be comfortable with the term 'Negro' which is nothing more than Spanish for 'black'.

Using a PC word, doesn't make one decent, as has been noted.

With respect - rabid nonsense.

At this very moment hundreds of Sydneysiders have been given notice to sell up their homes and move because the Powers-that-Be have decided to build a network of new roads through their suburbs.

When it's a matter of serving the interests of the great majority, then it has to be the case that a few individuals must suffer a temporary inconvenience for the 'greater good'.

Them injuns will find employment with the pipe-line going through their reservation.

Given the obvious general socio-economic disparity, that's like a billionaire saying 'if I can accept being referred to as a rich prick then the destitute should be comfortable with poor loser'.

Didn't you go to private schools, travelled the world in your youth and got to emigrate to a country of your choice?

I don't understand the relevance here.

If I was an American abo who freely made the choice to remain on the reservation as a mendicant upon the taxes of the Working Public, then you can be damned sure I would have the good grace not to complain if work was afoot to further increase the pool of funds from which I benefit as a permanent dole-bludger.

They are poor by choice, not as a result of a Victimhood over which they have no control.

I'm the guy who worked for decades in Australia's manufacturing industries with a score of different immigrant nationalities who had decided the Victimhood Card was not for them, thank you very much.

They crossed oceans to work in our factories, and today they live in big houses and have annual holidays overseas.

The Dakota pipeline dispute was about more than "inconvenience".
The US Army Corps of engineers denied an easement for the pipeline to cross under a river that provides water not only for the tribe, but 17 million Americans.
The pipeline would create jobs in the short term, and would reduce the risk of accidents with oil being transported by rail (sorry Warren Buffett), but it was fair to ask the tribe's concerns to be heard.
We have a history of tribal lands being seized by the government, only to be sold to, and defaced by, their new corporate owners.
A classic example was what Al Gore did in collusion with Occidental Petroleum.

Was your first post (above) referring to native Americans or African Americans?

Storm in a tea-cup.

Much Ado about Nothing.

As voluntary Wards of the State these American Abos are tenants of the federal government - with free board-and-lodgings. When I lived as a tenant to a landlord it was him who called all the shots while I paid him a king's ransom in rent.

If you're on your arse as a beneficiary living off the sweat of others - then you shut-up and have the good grace not to complain.
