...Women.

I reckon it's a spatial awareness thing.

Absolutely - when I do the washing up, all the cutlery and dishes have their ordained spot... you have all the knives in one place - same with the rest of the cutlery - and you have a progression of dish sizes so that all are in order and not just stacked one on top of the other....

I rinse in the second tub filled with water so there is NO soap residue.

The ex - who drives me mad over dish washing - just slams them through as if she has no interest (she doesn't - the voices in her head are too strong) - stacks them on top of each other after a two second blast with clean water to remove soap - and then whines when dishes get broken and it takes twice as long to put all the dishes and cutlery in their proper place, and they all taste of soap.

My dishes are DISCIPLINED!  Hers sustain casualties..... stick with me, Kids - I'll get you home.

Don't get me started.

Xmas time with daughters around, my God the dishwasher was like a Gaza street scene.

I mean it's not rocket science is it to use the space efficiently.
Plus they have no idea about rinsing things before you put them in so as to keep the machine clean.

You stacked your cat backwards - that's a fail.

Right location though - always cat then cutlery.

Gaza street scene, love it.
I've never met a woman who can stack a dishwasher efficiently despite them being ridiculously intelligent in all other aspects of their life. Mother, sister, wife, all my ex girl friends....

Christmas a few years ago when wife and her 3 sisters cleaned and stacked, it looked like all the dishes where put into a pinata and hung above the dishwasher, then bonobos riding unicycles hit at it until the dishes randomly fell into the dishwasher rack.

We're talking about a doctor, 2 accountants and lawyer.

The problem is cods, (in general not all women) where once women were the backbone of the family.

We are heading towards a future where the only thing women will be capable of is pointing their heels to the sky.

I think that's why young people get divorced with such ease.

With every generation the feathers in the caps of both men and women is diminishing, they both bring less to the table in terms of everyday skills.

My wife and I share dishwasher stacking equally, although I must admit I am slightly better at it than her  ;)  Also, I am a non-rinser. If a dish needs rinsing before going in the dishwasher why use it in the first place?  The only exceptions are the occasional burnt dish, otherwise its a quick scrape and let the machine do the work.

I never bought the myth that dishwashers use less water, considering you need to wash the dishes before you can even put them in the machine.

You don't need to rinse. Just scrape the scraps off and the machine will do the rest.  The whole rinse thing is an urban myth. Check this out:

I scrape, rinse and/or wash mine before they go into the dishwasher because I only run the dishwasher every few days and I don't want stinking food or stuck on food on them.

I never bought the myth that dishwashers use less water, considering you need to wash the dishes before you can even put them in the machine.

You don't need to rinse. Just scrape the scraps off and the machine will do the rest.  The whole rinse thing is an urban myth.

I scrape, rinse and/or wash mine before they go into the dishwasher because I only run the dishwasher every few days and I don't want stinking food or stuck on food on them.

  so very efficient .

Don't get me started.

Xmas time with daughters around, my God the dishwasher was like a Gaza street scene.

I mean it's not rocket science is it to use the space efficiently.
Plus they have no idea about rinsing things before you put them in so as to keep the machine clean.

We're talking about a doctor, 2 accountants and lawyer.

dishwashers are one of these electronic thingies..that come with a book written in Chinese...so what do you expect..

if it has more than and on off button... forget it.... our brains are permanently in off mode when it comes to science...

everyone knows that..

get real you men do everything better than us girls... we are slowly waking up to that fact.....and letting you get on with it.. ;) ;)

Chinese? The best ones are German or Swedish.

Always wanted to marry a lawyer so I could get some of my own back and screw her instead of the other way around... lady cops are good value there, too.

Chinese instruction book?  I recall seeing a model Mustang labeled 'Wild Horse'....  "if not connect water washing not automatic, must place hose end in orifice......  :-X  :-/

If men don't stack the dishwasher correctly they may have to change tasks and cook dinner instead so I am sure they do it very well.

We got a new dish washer last year. I regularly re stack it after my wife. We had it for about 3 months before she asked me how to start it.

your wife sounds like a good one ... my wife asked me after we'd had the dishwasher almost 2 years.  :D :D :D

I think dishwashers are self defeating and pointless..if you have to rinse and scrape them before  stacking them into the machine ,then they are not time saving labor saving devices are they..if you are going to all that trouble..let them dry after you have  washed and scraped them  in the first place and then stack them away....  had one and never replaced it.

We don't have a machine, when guests ask for directions to it I inform them they have already met Marie.
I have a coffee machine, it's name is Marie too.

I asked my Ford Territory today why it had not taken on the name 'Terry'... it's reply was that if I imbued it with so much personal value, something would inevitably go wrong - it's one of those Murphy's Law things - so in my best interests it preferred to remain anonymous.

It's off to Tasmania next month.... guided tour....

No, no - I'M guiding the Territory..... wouldn't touch a guided tour with a barge pole... I like to explore the by-ways.... travel to Asia and Europe and The Americas is back-packing for me - preferably alone - I move much faster that way... only trouble with back-packer accommodation is the noise.... young fools... they should be sleeping instead of partying and be ready for the next day's excitement in a strange city...

Most backpackers are there just to party and add a destination to  their travel resume. Back in the day they'd walk around glued to their lonely planet,  now it's TripAdvisor
