Donald Trump supporters protest against Starbucks by buying coffees

In a move which has puzzled many online, Donald Trump supporters are protesting against Starbucks by buying drinks under the US President-elect's surname.

The protest was reportedly encouraged on Twitter after a Florida man claimed a Starbucks barista in Miami refused him service because he supported Mr Trump, according to CNN.

David Sanguesa accused a barista of discriminating against him, in a video posted on Twitter on Wednesday (local time).

In protest, a movement labelled #TrumpCup has called for customers to tell Starbucks baristas their name is Trump so that employees write the word on the cup and yell out his name when the drink is ready.

The guidelines were tweeted by Baked Alaska on Friday (local time).

But some were left confused by the protest and the idea of protesting against an organisation by giving them business.

As one user put it: "I'm curious. How much money did @Starbucks make out of the #trumpcup protest?"

I bet they order a staff member to refuse service to a trump supporter again in a few days time.  :D :D
