The Very Real Threat Of A Trump Dictatorship

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZcentRR7iA

Published on Nov 11, 2016

Conservatives have worried about an Obama dictatorship for years. Mostly because he’s not white. Trump, on the other hand, exhibits all the tell-tale signs (attacking journalists, etc.) of a fascist authoritarian strongman who will use any means necessary to hold onto power. You’ve been warned, America. He admires Putin for a reason. Cenk Uygur, John Iadarola, Jimmy Dore, and Alonzo Bodden, hosts of The Young Turks, break it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below. http://tytnetwork.com/join

"You saw in my title, ‘The Trump Election Crisis.’ It is named after the Cuban Missile Crisis, because an authoritarian fascist has been nominated by a major political party for the first time in our country’s history. As a result, America is in its most dangerous and frightening period since the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Like the Cuban Missile Crisis, there could be Severe, imminent consequences if Trump gets elected. First is our relationships with other countries and other leaders. Then, ISIS, which is on the decline, will likely become an actual threat, because of what Trump has said about Muslims. Not to mention the potential stock market crash, like we saw in Europe after Brexit.

There are numerous threats, but the biggest one is the elephant in the room that the media won’t talk about, fascism. You see people on the right, all the time, who think their “freedoms” are being infringed, you know, because Michelle Obama wants our kids to eat a few damn vegetables, because Liberals would like to see the rich pay their fair share of taxes and because transgendered people can pee in whatever bathroom they choose. Now, even though tea-baggers think those things will destroy our democracy as we know it, they’re completely behind a candidate who may actually destroy democracy as we know it. Donald Trump told a CBS’ Miami affiliate, WFOR news station yesterday that he believes the First Amendment provides ‘too much protection’ for free speech. He’s threatening our actual freedoms.”

Trump has the presidency and, if the Republicans know what's good for them, two houses. He is now going through the process of selecting his family and friends for every government position he will control.

Trump is a billionaire. He has no need for money. He has no party loyalties and no political career. For Trump, running for the White House was never much more than a publicity stunt. He has nothing at all to lose.

When asked what Fascism was, Mussolini famously answered, I am Fascism. A Fascist regime is society that is built around the will of the Leader.

Amerika, on the other hand, is built around the cult of the individual. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are about self-sufficiency and individual sovereignty.

Trump has only ever appealed to these values to assert his own will. Nothing in his career has demonstrated selflessness or humility. His catchphrase, you're fired, highlights Trump's style to a T.

Amerika has gone down the road to Fascism. This won't be an easy road for Amerikans. Whether it ends like all past Fascist regimes in a spectacular display of self-destruction remains to be seen.

One thing we know: Trump has no shame, no tact, and no humility. He does not consult, he rarely listens, he sees all obstacles - contracts, the law, and the rights of others - as hurdles to be quashed. Two things motivate such egos: fame, and revenge. Trump wants to be feared and loved by as many people as possible. He will do whatever it takes to destroy his enemies. Egos like Trump's have an insatiable appetite for notoriety, and they never forgive.

Types like this get quickly bored. Trump already has wealth, and he now has power. What he hasn't tried yet is war, the ultimate aim of such egos. Trump saw his many legal battles as wars. His ghostwritten book, the Art of the Deal, referenced the Art of War. Trump has already promised trade wars with China and Mexico, and he's threatened real wars with ISIL, Iran and Cuba. The logical extention of Trump's ego is not president, a job he covers for the title alone, but Commander in Chief.

Trump is now the generalissimo of the world's best-equipped military force.

As with everything else he's done, Trump is unlikely to show restraint. As he's said, he sees the US military as a tool, and in particular, it's nuclear arsenal. Trump has refused to rule out nuclear attacks on Iran and Syria. Whether he would do something like this remains to be seen. Unlike all recent pre-elected US leaders, we had some inkling of how they saw such destructive power. With Trump, the only inkling we see is a tendency to not hold back.

Forget ISIS, al Qaida, China, Russia and Iran. Without a doubt, Trump is now the most dangerous man in the world.

Yes we'll forgive him these shortcomings,  if he bans Muslims.

Simplistic. Only a fool would believe the POTUS holds supreme power or makes individual decisions regarding military action. He is nothing more and never has been nothing more than a figurehead for vested interests.

sure, but the popular belief that the POTUS has his sole finger on the nuclear button is incorrect. From memory  it was JFK who wanted to commit to atomic warfare and His Generals who talked him out of it.

The influence of the hard-right, Christian evangelical lobby in the US military cannot be overlooked under Eisenhower and JFK, even under Nixon.   "Dr. Strangelove" was closer to the truth, as was "Fail Safe" (both surprisingly sourced from the same novel), than many like to admit.   In both cases, extremist Officers gained control of nuclear forces and attack the fUSSR in an unprovoked manner.   ::)

Indeed. And herein lies the source of Trump's real power: the US military.

Rhino's the most reliable poster here - he always gets things the wrong way around. The Chief is the only one with his finger on the first button. If anyone can turn JFK talking his war cabinet out of nuking Cuba into JFK being talked out of nuking Cuba, Rhino's your man.

JFK's joint chiefs of staff were a select few at the time who were ready and willing to use nukes. Curtis LeMay had, after all, given the order to nuke Hiroshima and Nagasaki only 17 years before serving JFK. Keeping the chiefs in line was the most important thing JFK ever did. It could not have been easy for a young ex-WWII naval officer, but JFK really did save the world.

It remains to be seen whether Trump will destroy it.

Baron thinks Trump's child rape allegations are fine and dandy.

But he is the 'great satan' he paints the Washington establishment out to be... Thats the irony...
Hasn't it been Trump's failed businesses , bogus University and tax avoidance acrobatics that were designed to fund and enrich Trump?

Do you imagine Trump's business partners actually have the good of the nation in mind?

& etc...

Watch it again and note how congruous it becomes when you make Trump the subject.

I don't know what to think -
it's all speculation until we see what he does.
I know we have the same problems that he talks about - here in Australia.

Eisenhower would have agreed with you...

Eisenhower's warning was Presidential inability to constrain the military... He never had any fear that they would not make war on his command... His experience was that they would not make peace on his command.

Indeed. And herein lies the source of Trump's real power: the US military.

Particularly the President's 'secret army' - The CIA.

That's the 'heroin' of US Presidential power... Has there been any President who has not been seduced by the idea of a private army?

Once youve had too much of that white lady, I'd bet there'd be no going back...

Power to any degree tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Trump doesn't take or need political donations, those who make political donations all want something in return.

The Saudis and Gulf states donate to the Clinton foundation, WTF is the USA doing with the war between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, why are they backing the sunni in this sunni vs shia religious war?

Trump may not be everybody's cup of tea, but for him to become a dictator he would need the military and the police to answer to him without question. That will not happen in the next year, if ever. Don't let Leftist fantasies and sour grapes get the better of you.

The Saudis are evil - no one can deny that.

Hillary has taken money from them even though they stone woman to death.
Hillary has no morals.

How can a feminist take money from the Saudis who don't let women drive or leave their homes without a Mahram (male they are forbidden to marry or have sex with).

The Saudis use beheading to cure atheists and blasphemers.

WikiLeaks showed Hillary will say one thing to her Business friends and another to the plebs who would dislike her business deals.
She cannot be trusted.

Trump has a plan:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2s9AV910NY

have I seen this before? -
well yes -
Hitler also told the people of a gigantic worldwide conspiracy against the German people.
Is this the same kind of talk?

I really don't know what to make of it yet.

Let's see what Trump does.

Malcolm also says he has a plan. So Trump is America's Turnbull then.

Anyone who uses Hitler to illustrate their vague and foggy notions around Trump is an ignorant, stupid fool.  Don't do it, it just exposes you to ridicule.

Good post:

It was the post of the year.

Karnal nailed it.

It's an idiotic post in a thread based on an idiotic notion.

The progressive left has been moving beyond good and evil for a century or more, labelling it all as just so much socially constructed hooey, insisting that being preoccupied with such post-modern and post-christian nonsense as transgender toilets, gay marriage and open borders is where post-modern, post-Christian, post-whatever thinking is.

But let someone who doesn't buy into any of that nonsense be elected president or simply express contrary views and the progressive left are immediately back into the apocalyptic hyperbole of good and evil, referencing fascism and nazism at every turn (that's their tired old cliche of virtue signalling).

All you need to do is disagree with them and not be cowered or bullied but instead win a few elections and they are off their heads.

Yes - he's turning his wall into a fence.
He wants people to be kind to Mexicans.
He's only going to send back Mexicans with criminal records.
He's gone easy on everyone.

He sounds really nice now.
