There was a time that GMods didn't interfere in member run boards or delete threads, but it seems it's no longer the case.

I know eating humble pie isn't your thing Aussie - but I would be pleasant to them and not dent their egos in any sense, so you don't get any more threads deleted. It might become a habit.

Perhaps they've been threads on the General Board. Member Run boards are different. The mods running them can do as they please, but aren't usually subject to GMod interference unless they're away for long periods at a time.

It is still the case.  I will defend the right of Board Run Mods doing their thing as FD's Rules specifically state they can.

And let's make this clear again.  It is years since I last deleted anything.  John got so hairy chested about it back then, I decided as a Policy that I would, from then on, be very reluctant to delete anything, and I haven't.

as it is mantra some behavior on here is driving people away...maybe you havent noticed....but some folks feel picked on....and they are not in the position aussie and others are in...where he can start threads in his own patch...and can even post in feedback...us mere mortals dont have that protection...and or privilege  we dont have a private little place to go and plead our case....we can only do it in public..........where one then runs the risk of being told they are the forums worst abuser........and or vicious .. with not one gmod coming out and calling it personal abuse...lololol....in fact they agreed....so you can guess how safe I feel on here mantra... :)

Sure, so why not tell us why the Thread was removed, and who removed it?  Members can then come (or not) to that very conclusion you have described.  However, keeping people in the dark leads to the alternate (and obviously reasonable) conclusion that things are being covered up because the motive behind the removal may not have been as you describe, and, instead, something far less worthy.

If what you say is correct Mr Hicks, why doesn't the GMod (if it was a GMod) post here that he removed it, why he removed it, in doing so, he concedes he stuffed up, he should not have not it, and he has learned from the experience?

Some are never happy. It will be the death of you if you don't stop and smell the roses and that life really is good. A forum is a nice way to communicate to strangers on issues and better than Facebook (well for some)

Cods - you've got to learn to mind read the non-answers. After many years you can become quite adept at it. Non responses are often more informative than a reply. Most of us would know what the answer should be anyway. Besides if you got an answer it mightn't be the truth - or worse - it could be the truth.

The culture of not responding was around before Andrei's time. Mods aren't obliged to respond - besides can you imagine having to reply to 50 or so messages a day? I would be ignoring many of them - you probably would too.

I PM'd a global moderator for the first time in approx. 2 years just recently. I was lucky and got a quick response. I don't think I've messaged FD for several years. I don't need to. The members here are fairly lucky. Most of us can say what we want within fairly moderate boundaries.

cods is not entirely without just cause in this case.  You may not have seen some very nasty comments addressed at her by someone.

Best everyone just tone down the language.  This ought not descend into a Member bash. 

It is about a missing thread.  Should be easily disposed of, finalised, done and dusted, water under the bridge, with the truth which may yet emerge from the horse's mouth, I hope.

Cods - don't take any of this to heart. Of course you had the right to say something back to Emma. She jumps on you with abuse at every available opportunity.

These forums contain groups of pack animals - they always have. When a vulnerable poster appears a group of them jump in for the kill. You are stronger than they are Cods and because they're only using words - they can't physically hurt you. Don't let them hurt you emotionally though. Once you've read their posts - dismiss them altogether. They aren't worth responding to.

Don't let a few people spoil this forum for you.
