A former military intelligence officer will become the next Greens politician to join the NSW legislative council, after the preselection of Justin Field by party members on Saturday.

Mr Field, a campaigner for the Nature Conservation Council who also helped establish the Lock the Gate movement to oppose coal seam gas, fills the upper house vacancy left by the death of Greens MLC John Kaye.

as we seem to lose more and more people to sharks...

the shark is coming in to feed on the fish the greenies have stopped recreational fishermen from catching.. so the supply is enormous they dont have to try too hard dinner is just sitting there waiting and that goes for the odd surfer and swimmer.......who probably provide dessert...

I look forward to seeing a Sydney Harbour full of sharks....
