I've been wondering if a van would be a good option

friend of mine who works for Toyota says Toyota is tweaking their design so as to make the Hilux match the Ford in size .... they seem to think that is why people are going the Ford.

Don't know about that. I've got the 4L Petrol duel cab. Seems to have plenty of power. I've loaded it to the hilt and still no dramas.

Of course, I can't compare to the ford as I haven't driven one.

the Toyota V6 petrols are magnificent motors.

expect 400,000 kms from it. easily

the original 3litre V6 won a 'Wards' engine of the year award .
