Title: My money's on Boris
Post by bogarde73 on Jun 28th, 2016 at 10:41am
But Theresa May could be a compromise between the Brexiteers and the Remainers.
She could in fact turn into a new Maggie Thatcher if she gets the job. She's a steely lady.

All this speculation. There is absolutely no need for a snap election and they shouldn't have one. The Tory majority will stand firm and an election, even to capitalise on the  chaos in Labour, will only divide the country further.

Boris for me has the makings of a Churchillian personality.

Never in a million years.

Boris has much more personality.

Boris Johnson has alienated his main group of supporters, young Londoners, who mostly wanted to remain in Europe, and would be seen by most to be a divisive figure in politics at the moment.  I would be very surprised if the Conservatives select him as their new leader.  It would have been different for him if the remain vote had won by a very narrow majority - then it would almost be as if the job was handed to him on a plate.

bogarde73's money's on Boris for biggest loser? Boris is keeping his head below the trench because he has no ideas on stopping the rampant chaos clouding the UK.

Boris is a self-infatuated loser.

I think the day will come when they come back to Boris on their knees as they did with Churchill.

IMO, it was probably a very conscious decision, on Boris Johnsons' part,       ...to 'pass' at this moment, on being handed, what is very likely a poison chalice [at this time].

But it's not the police who decide. It's the Tory Party.

Young Londoners are most certainly not Johnson's biggest group of supporters.

I would like to see Andrea Leadsom become the new PM rather than May, who was a member of the Remain camp. Leave campaigner Leadsom was brilliant in the two televised debates she took part in during the referendum campaign. She should be PM.

Your money was on Boris. Pay up. Boris hasn't stopped running.
