You should know by now that all political promises are ephemeral by nature. |

Truth is a malleable concept - in the hands of politicians more malleable than concept... |

John Howard used the phrase to describe a GST.
Mr Abbott used the phrase to rule out future excuses for not bringing the budget back to surplus. One thing's for sure. If a politician says never ever, we know it's a plan. Always, absolutely, never ever. |

So, how soon will it take them to privatise Medicare if they are re-elected?
The only way to guarantee that Medicare will NOT be privatised is to put Libs last on your HoR ballot paper. And NO number on the Senate ballot paper. |

Labor has been running an advertising campaign featuring former prime minister Bob Hawke accusing the coalition of privatising the agency he founded.
It is based on a $5 million coalition plan to set up a task force within the health department to review the way in which payments are delivered. 'Medicare will never ever be privatised,' Mr Turnbull told reporters in northern NSW on Friday. 'Medicare will never ever be sold. Medicare is a core government service. It will always be delivered by the government and every element of Medicare's activities will continue to be delivered by the government.' --------------------- Then why do they want to hand over the payment section to the private sector? --------------------- 'If you take the payment system out of the hands of the public purse and give it to a private, profit-making entity, you are compromising the basics of Medicare,' Mr Shorten said. --------------------- Quote:

Even Barnaby thinks Turnbull is on the nose.
Either that, or he is trying not to laugh at Mal's bullshit. Privatise_Medicare.jpg (46 KB | ) |
