i will try to tie the intelligence of a man into alpha male behaviour.

it seems that the main features which women do find attractive are

confidence
non neediness
sense of humor
freedom from outcome
some degree of edginess
sexual skills.

i suppose there is a bit of a chicken and an egg arguement here,

is a guy who is super confident, grounded in his own reality and independant of outcome likely to be more intelligent
or is a guy who is intelligent, more likely to be super confident, passionate, on his mission in life and able to take the woman along for the ride.

certainly you will note i dont put good looks, big muscles, a fancy car or a big bank balance into the list of things women find attractive.  not really.
so a good brain is just as good an asset as a six pack.

what is probably more important then intelligence in the IQ sense, is social intelligence and the ability to calibrate.
The ability to read sub communications, social awareness, the ability to play subtle push pull and to create tension and then release the tension.
You certainly have to be smart to do this.

A lot smarter then an aussie yobbo who only knows how to wolf whistle or get drunk and behave like an octopus.

These behaviours are obviously not those of an intelligent man, but i think women find them repulsive, not because the guy is not intelligent but because they reek of desperation  ;)

Their principle problems seem to be dyslexia and alliteration....
