Title: Palmer and Queensland Nickel
Post by Aussie on Jun 14th, 2016 at 1:53pm
He's a hard man to keep down.  Noise about re-opening the Refinery is good, but.....let's see what happens.

Link.

Quote:
Clive Palmer has filed a claim in the Supreme Court seeking more than $1 billion in damages from FTI Consulting, the former administrator of his Queensland Nickel business.

Mr Palmer indicated last month he would take legal action over the way FTI Consulting handled the failing Townsville refinery.

FTI was appointed to run the refinery in January, but Mr Palmer sacked the firm several weeks later.

It has previously indicated it would fight any legal action.

Mr Palmer said he held FTI Consulting responsible for the refinery's closure and the sacking of about 800 workers.

Quote:
Mr Palmer said yesterday he was taking steps to reopen the refinery.

The current refinery operator, Queensland Nickel Sales, has begun an expressions of interest process and is working on a schedule for the facility's reopening.

Director Martin Brewster said the company was hoping to rehire some of the workers sacked earlier this year.

"We're after all sorts of people to come and work here," Mr Brewster said.

"Hopefully we'll get some of the previous workforce back again. We need that experience to assist us with the process of getting the refinery back online.

"It's certainly a good use to get that employment back here in Townsville."

Mr Brewster said they expected to hire around 500 workers, should the refinery reopen.

The bankruptcy could have been a ploy to allow firing of 300 workers which might otherwise have resulted in union action.

Furthermore, the Nickel refinery close down could have given Palmer an advantage in negotiations with Nickel ore suppliers.

Perhaps Palmer was foxing all the time.

Oh.....okay.  I'll search the Supreme Court Registry to see if it is true that he has initiated proceedings.  You reckon he lied about that, ey, cods?

Palmer will, most likely, have a "health scare" soon .... he is soooooooooooo Morbidly Obese that surely his heart cannot keep pumping for much longer.  Last ditch stand comes to mind and our resident taxi driver is backing him to the hilt .... shows you what sort of person he is.  Wouldn't touch him or Clive with a barge pole.  ;)

QNI will not open again

the plant has been let run down so badly it will cost a fortune to get back to standard

especially it's environmental standards that were let slip

and if as you may be suggesting Aussie

this has all been a ruse

then he should be held to account

because I believe that's tantamount to fraud
