Title: Police Comm Scipione's Award - an affront
Post by red baron on Jun 13th, 2016 at 7:30pm
Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione scored an Order of Australia on the Queen Birthday Honours list - WHY?

Scipione oversaw the most dysfunctional management of the Man Monis siege that it defies description.

This is not my humble opinion these are facts born out in the inquest into the siege.

No wonder the NSW Police Force wanted a closed shop hearing. They were running for cover in the aftermath of the siege. Lucky for the Public they didn't get it.

Just a few observations amongst a circus of incompetence. The NSW Police did not have a siege 'management truck'. They did but it broke down and they didn't get it repaired then a few years ago sold it. Apparently they didn't expect a siege anytime in the future.

Then the officer running the management of the siege had to set up in a nearby club...with wait for it...a single mobile phone and one landline. Calls were coming in big time from the Lindt Café but he could only take one at a time. What a total joke.

Then the Local Commander ..a Chief Inspector, left the running of the siege to attend other 'problems' happening that day.

Is this the Keystone Cops you are reading about or the best New South Wales has to offer.

Then the final kicker,  Police Commissioner Scipione called it a day at 11.30pm on the night of the siege. Perhaps he had had a big day, he couldn't hang around long enough to witness the killings.

And this bloke is running our Police Force. If you have any conscience you will hand that honour back  Commissioner you don't deserve it.

Mr Baron...these days, they are scraping deep into the barrel to find recipients.  All it takes is for a couple of your mates to make a submission about how great you are, and you will get the gong.

I feel your angst, Red Baron.

And then there were four phone calls from the captives that went unanswered because the person/persons manning the phone/s were called away for a meeting.

The litany of gross incompetence just goes on and on, and the final report, when made into a book - is going to be a world-wide Best Seller for its pratfalls and its 'Believe it or Not!' incredulity.

Skippy deserves it as much as any other Freemason. Skippy is a Worshipful Master?
