And how many of them can you remember? (assuming you use reasonably complex passwords and never the same one twice?

So?

I have one....its bad enough remembering that...some times I have to add another digit to make up the number and thats all I can remember....

what with that and the pin number..

its all too much

I also ad a character to the beginning and end of each password so that if keepass is somehow hacked the passwords don't work

1/ Lots.

2/ Hardly any of them.

I write them down into a Word document, then encrypt it. Means I can
bring them up at any time, but no-one else can.

I have lots and other important details. Like Kat, Important ones I have them in a word document that is encrypted and password protected. I store this file in several places and including sent to my self in an email just in case. Sent a copy to wife just in case I die.

So worst case is..... I have to remember one, the password of my word document.

Clever!  So IF somebody ever hacks into your computer they just need to look for a file called "PASSWORDS".  ;D

PS the Cops can do "encrypt", even if your kids and wife can't.  ;)

Why on earth would I create a complex password?  I certainly use a different password here than I do for, say, my Bank. I write them down (except for the Bank one as that is a no no).  ;)

I have 100s I use Roboform password manager

Of course that requires one master password to access it on locked passwords (important banks etc)

Ditto, Cods.  I do have lots of email friends around the World, but it is mostly chit-chat .... ASIO would be devastated if they grabbed my computer (laptop, mobile phone, tablet and so forth) since there is absolutely nothing here.   :P

No, because that's nothing like what it's called.

And why would the cops need to decrypt it?

I'd do it for 'em, there's nothing in there that's illegal or compromising.

"How many passwords do you have?"

Too many!

I am sick to death of having to register everywhere before you can do a thing.  Everyone wants a different length password blah blah blah.

That's an important thing to remember for the future that comes to us all John.
If you can remember that you've forgotten something you're on the way to a successful day of confusion.
