Title: Technical Department of Telstra Scam
Post by John_Taverner on May 28th, 2016 at 8:01am
I found an insult that really hurt them.

I can't talk to you right now
Why not?

Because I have better things to do than talk to an Urdu speaking curry munching terrorist. Does your mother know you are a criminal?

Ha! I actually got tears, and a reply call from a very irate Indian male.

He kept ranting "you are the terrorist" and I said shut up on top of him a few times, then hung up.

It felt good.

The Urdu speaking bit is almost as offensive as the terrorist bit.  It implies that they are Pakistani.  The gang is almost certainly Indian.

Anybody got any better ones we can all try out?  Don't shout. Speak normally or they will hang up immediately.

Good on you!

I got one of them so angry by my swearing and calling him a curry munching camel fkkkker  etc , that he started to swear back at me but mucked up his English in the process.

He hung up but rang back a few minutes later and started swearing again so I gave him another serve!

Pissed myself laughing!

I just tell them I am a whistleblower. When they ask what that is I give them a blast from the pea whistle I keep handy.

Why were they ringing you.  Scam or some other reason?

The usual scam. Your computer is infected by viruses and corrupting the system. We can help you clean the viruses. (Then they disable your system by remote access and charge you money to restore it). If you've never been targeted, you're lucky.

I've never been targetted.  Still, I am not entirely comfortable with an attack back in the terms you described.  That is certainly not the way I'd handle it.

Just tell them you don't have a computer - then they stop calling.

I once used a tactic I heard on the radio. Told the Indian I was a police officer ,that he had called the number of a murdered drug importer how did he know the victim?  Then accused him of not cooperating with a police investigation.  ;D

If I* cant be bothered talking to them I reply that I work at Telstra too, they hang up very quickly. But if I'm in a playful mood I follow their instructions (I don't actually do what they ask but say I'm doing it) until they ask me what comes up on my screen and I tell them its a message saying that this is a scam.

Sometimes I might say I'm in a hurry so lets cut to the chase and I will give you my bank details so you can steal what you want.

Booby is right.

Just say "what computer", and they'll be gone.
