Former Defence minister and Labor frontbencher Joel Fitzgibbon says it's "absolutely possible" that the Rolex watches given to Tony Abbott and former ministers Stuart Robert and Ian Macfarlane by a Chinese businessman could have been bugged.

MP know they must declare ALL gifts, not China Man fault....Chinese business man giving friends very nice Rolex watches from plastic bag not sus at all....This the way business done in Beijing....Bug not work anyway???

Wouldn't the logo of crossed chop sticks and LoLex have given it away............

Take off that tin foil hat and add some more tin gleenswine....

It's a good thing you don't work in anything to do with security. Your lax attitude is equivalent to standing with your butt cheeks spread wide with a sign saying "ream me".

Any gift to any MP has to be declared. It is a routine matter to submit physical gifts to the Signals Directorate for checking, including x-raying. National security could be at stake here.
