What ever the political perspective: left, right, or inside-out, I read a lot of wishful-thinking on this forum. People love to crow about their views coming to ascendency. In the west, most things stumble along in middle of the road mediocrity. (How's that for alliterative alliances?)
The Italian initiative, as positive as it is, will likely run into all kinds of opposition from the EU, the UN, and Amnesty International to mention a few. We have to remember that the upper echelon of Western adminstrations are peopled with the enemies of freedom. It is not that its a big conspiracy of villains; in some cases, they mean well. In other cases they don't want to upset the apple cart, even if it means a massacre or two. For this initiative to be productive, it needs to be part of a raft of policies to restrict the spread of Islam, and publicise the reality of its intention towards other cultures. That will not happen while leaders left an right blow a smoke screen between their voters and the undermining of pluralism. Good luck to the Italian people, they'll need it. |

That is just stupid. If you look at any civilisation - any - you will see that they are all built around a system of belief, most of them being a religion. And so you will see, if only you bothered to look, that civilisations create societies in the image of their gods. And once you perceived that, you would then see that it makes a massive difference what kind of understanding and perception you have of the supernatural and the transcendental. The sh!tehole societies have demons for gods (viz Haiti, Araby, animist Africans). The noice societies have lovingkindness kinda gods and therefore cooperative, tolerant, lovingkindness kinda societies. |

And still, dickhead religious losers try to influence, and each time they try to influence it results in some kind of depravity or discrimination. Hence, let's just cancel recognition of all religion. No more. You can believe in hocus pocus if you like, but don't expect any recognition of such stupid belief. |

The left regard the muslim as their saviors, they believe that they have been sent from the middle east in order to help subjugate what the left regards as the real threat to mankind ie. the free thinking right wing market place advocate conservative.
A totally free society relegates leftards and muslims to the bottom rung of the ladder, basically loser status, and this is why they fight tooth and nail against the capitalistic system. |

Remember, after Sept 11, he went and invaded Iraq instead of Saudi Arabia. Sure, he got his countries mixed up, but you can see how. They both have Muslims. Clash of civilizations, innit. |

It is what his followers believe that defines who Jesus is. What other record do we have? The mumbo jumbo is always free. It's the things you have to pay for that the money is spent on. |

Last I checked christianity was not solely about what jebus said. Do I have a problem with a jebus teaching? not that I can think off the top of my head. Do I have a problem something jebus did? Well, the whole water into wine thing to start with. But again, Christianity is not solely about what jebus said and is defined by its followers and what they believe in. And the crazy ones, just like crazy muslims, crazy jews, etc, believe in some crazy sh1t. As for the church - I'd find it hard to argue that the church predominately does charitable work. As such, money donated that goes towards non charitable work should not be tax free. |

Nothing about number of followers here Alevine. It sounds like you were judging the religion itself. You must have some major issues with Jews to do that. |

Of course we have to consider numbers when determining the extent of the damage that can be caused by religious nut jobs. 1 Christianity and Judaism are worse than Buddhism when it comes to the sh1t they make people believe. Although extreme Buddhism in itself isn't exactly saintly, far from it. 2. Christianity has more followers than Judaism, and overall more within the power structures in the world. Hence, Christianity -> Judaism -> Buddhism Hindus, I mean... The whole untouchables thing and dowry thing... Perhaps it can even go next to Christianity or just below it and above Judaism? Sikhs... Well they make good kebabs and feed people without the need to talk about gawd. So perhaps they are okay. |
