I think the other reason they did this was that if they do it in front of the GWS fans, theres a good chance at least one opposition fan has his teeth and got through primary school.

What a sook! He wouldnt do a lap of honour at the grandfinal because he might have gotten booed. He wont do it against Collingwood so their only option is a soft one - a lap (but not of honour) at a game where he is less likely to be booed. I hope he gets a big boo from a lot of the crowd.

Cheers, although no one has actually provided any proof to show how its behaviour modification, especially since it seemed to occur every time Goodes just touched a ball, rather than engaging in behaviour that is deemed unacceptable.

Back in the day "you big ape" was a coin of phrase used to describe a big hulking man.  Not an aboriginal.  You hear them use it in old movies all the time where there are absolutely no aboriginals in the cast.

Now if this 12 year old said "You are an ape Goodes who has barely climbed out of the trees".  Yes, I would consider that a racist remark.

Personally, I've never thought of the term 'ape' as a racial slur. I didn't actually realise that it was widely used as an insult particularly tailored to offend black people until i did some research on the topic.

Perhaps you should do the same.

If you had to research it then it is hardly widespread. And if it is only a slur in some quarters then by definition it is NOT in others. Either way, making that supreme fuss and attack on a 13yo girl has destroyed his reputation and rightly so since he declined to apologise.

you have to admit white/semi white people have ruled it over many groups for a long time..[read history].English/French Portuguese Spanish...a lot of whites were arrogant...and thought of these people as their slaves..never their equals...and sadly many are still like that....

Some white people look down on other  white people. I had Pecca and Alevine banging on about me being a pizza delivery driver and knocking me for it. Which I'm not. I wouldn't look down on anybody who is anyway. Bad things happened in the past by all groups of people around the world.
