Title: Google takesover ABC Post by random on Jan 31st, 2016 at 8:01pm
Given that Google has been identified as an arm of the US intelligence network, the appointment of Michelle Guthrie as Managing Director is a concern to anyone worried about the ABCs ability to feed us reliable information.
Looks like 4Corners will be moderated more than it has been before. |

The ABC's like ashtrays in cars. Just not really necessary in this day and age.

I disagree.
Other than the ABC all other broadcasting is totally under control, feeding the sheeple. Now the last bastion has been breached. "She does not have a background as a journalist or program-maker and has no public broadcasting experience." Given that, she must have some other values required. |

It's feeding the sheeple, alright. Just different sheeple.

So we have an unqualified Google employee taking over the ABC after an intensive period of the Liberal government trying to muzzle them.
As well the budget has been cut to the point where the ABC will have to start advertising to keep the doors open. Once that happens they will also be beholden to the advertisers. What if mining and or logging companies want to advertise? That would affect the interest is investigative journalism they are known for. But the most interesting links are the history of staff movements as a method of spreading influence, as in the US State Department to Google, then Google to other organizations. There is evidence that Google is now just an arm of the US intelligence services. This from Julian Assange: "Only a few months before he met with me, Cohen was planning a trip to the edge of Iran in Azerbaijan to “engage the Iranian communities closer to the border,” as part of a Google Ideas’ project on “repressive societies.” In internal emails Stratfor’s vice president for intelligence, Fred Burton (himself a former State Department security official), wrote: Google is getting WH [White House] and State Dept support and air cover. In reality they are doing things the CIA cannot do… [Cohen] is going to get himself kidnapped or killed. Might be the best thing to happen to expose Google’s covert role in foaming up-risings, to be blunt. The US Gov’t can then disavow knowledge and Google is left holding the poo-bag." |

I think he is saying that the ashtrays are a straw man construct, he would be correct. We will eventually find out but the appointment does seem to be what would be expected. Unfortunately people with legal backgrounds and in this case industry experience do tend to be attractive options. Probably another righty leader as was Scott. |

No experience working for a Public Broadcaster.
Looks like the government wants the ABC to move towards the model she if familiar working in. More paying, more advertising, more control. There goes the last source of trusted information we had. |

There is a serious disconnect between the ABC and the good people of "real australia"
I was listening to the ABC a while back and they were talking about aboriginals in custody in the NT. the reporter said that aborigines were 5 % of the population but comprised over 50 % of the prison population and that this statistic was one that should cause "great shame" i thought (as a real australian)...well this is interesting, she is saying aboriginals should be ashamed of themselves as so many are in prison. this is odd for the ABC.... But alas....she then went on to say how the "real australians' should be ashamed for locking up so many criminals. Her line of logic is just messed up. Only failed journos inhabit the coridoors of the ABC. people with serious mental health issues ;) ;) |

its a frustrating problem that isnt going to go away any time soon.. it will probably be another 100 years before aboriginals take full responsibility for their own welfare......its sad but thats how I see it.. at the moment they have too many people gioving them excuses for their behavior....they are dragging the past like a badge of honor or a sack of ashes on their backs....poor me poor us... they dont realise it turns people away.... until they meet us halfway....this is how it will play out... they are in jail in NT thanks to GROG...but if whitey says no GROG for aboriginals.. well we all know what happens... dont we??.. it will take time aqua... but one day they will see the light. |

The ABC is the public service sheltered workshop for journos. Surely this is blatantly obvious. If you do accountancy at uni and you are an honours student, you get snapped up by Deloittes or KPMG. if you scrape thru, you go and be a chode in the public service. If you do IT at uni and you are a champ, you go to silicon valley. If you are a chode, you go work doing the IT systems for Qld Health on minimum wage and you are a screw up. If you are a great journo. Rupert snaps you up and you get to play with the grown ups. If you are a scrubber you get to go on play school or romper room. You might even get to go on the drum , where your ratings will be about 5 % of the ratings of Grant Denyer on family Fued. as a loser, you bite back against the system that didnt want you. so you become a socialist 5th columnist and try to tear australia down. only a warped person , on the taxpayer dime , would be as anti australian as an ABC journo ;) ;) ;) |

Not everything can be backed up with a link or a scientific study. The general tone of shows like 4 corners is always at odds with our "national interest" whether its live cattle or trying to tear down the ADF, trashing a police force, attacking the horse racing industry, attacking a sporting identity..... its all negative and comes from a jealous and small mindset. it comes from a scarcity mentality. the ABC news shows have a serious collective negative neurosis. they are the definition of "limiting beliefs" and "negative neurotic thinking" if we look at some of the great communicators...take Oprah Whinfrey, for example....her mindset is very abundant, very positive, very generous, very much coming from a place of contribution. if we look at the communicators on the ABC their mindset is in scarcity, very negative, very mean spirited, very judgemental, very much coming from a place of victimhood. i would seriously advice anyone who wants to have a successful life not to absorb the ABC mindset as the whole ethos is just one that dwells on all the success barriers that one could face. very damaging for the psyche...no wonder so many young people raised by ABC and national curriculum neurotics have deep anxiety disorders and depression |

And then the government cried when the ABC had to close regional production down and reduce their employment numbers. A $254 million cut minus inflation is not insignificant no matter how you look at it. People complain about the reduction in locally produced drama etc. |

very inspirational woman is Miss Oprah. dirt poor, pregnant by sexual abuse at 14, she is one of the pin up girls for personal development, pushing through success barriers and she is a massive contributor, role model and all round great human being. i love her. now your average ABC staffer. bitter, twisted, negative, hates his country, seeks to inspire no-one and wants the population to join him in a self loathing nihilistic mental state. seriously, it would do your mental state a lot of good to spend a few hours reading Oprah's biograqphy (then move onto mandela's , ghandi's and richard branson's) rather then soak up "negative group think " on the ugly ABC |

I agree with you, 100%, Scoot. The luvvies think the ABC is high brow because it has more substance than 'Biggest Loser''. I know of many Australians who watch great documentaries, listen to jazz and classical, keep up to date with current affairs all around the world and watch the best international sport all the while sahing they never watch the ABC. The Internet has made Aunty redundant. Good riddance.
