Title: French PM starting to wise up.
Post by issuevoter on Jan 22nd, 2016 at 8:46pm
This from the BBC today:

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls has warned that Europe's migration crisis is putting the EU at grave risk.

1. Mr Valls told the BBC Europe could not take all the refugees fleeing what he called terrible wars in Iraq or Syria.
"Otherwise," he said, "our societies will be totally destabilised."

2. Mr Valls also said that France would seek to keep its current state of emergency until a "total and global war" against so-called Islamic State (IS) was over.
The measures were introduced after the IS-led Paris attacks on 13 November and then extended for three months.

3. Mr Valls was speaking to Lyse Doucet, the BBC's chief international correspondent, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Europe, he said, needed to take urgent action to control its external borders.
"If Europe is not capable of protecting its own borders, it's the very idea of Europe that will be questioned."

4. He added: "We know clearly that after the Cologne incidents that with the continuous flow, not only to Germany but the countries of Northern Europe, Austria, the Balkans are confronted with this influx, that's why we need to find practical solutions for our borders."
Mr Valls was referring to attacks in the German city on New Year's Eve - largely attributed to foreigners - that have sparked 800 complaints, 520 of them relating to sexual crimes.

I say starting to wise up. He still backs the idea that defeating ISIS will solve the problem. That is about as believable as the prospect of peace in the Middle East.

Its a shame he didn't see the problem a year ago. It was pretty obvious. But if he posted these opinion here today, he would be labeled a Nazi and an Islamophobe by those who pretend to care about people.

I think they have certainly bitten off more than they can chew. Mass migrations of people have always caused destabilisation of the local status quo. It has not been a measured policy.

The Mussies have invaded Europe.

No one wants them.

Premier Mike Baird of NSW wants them.

He's made a pre-Australia Day speech in which he wags a scolding finger at anyone who doesn't want Muslims to migrate here. He includes leading politicians in Europe, and the US's Donald Trump for his verbal bashing.

Who the hell does this stuffed-shirt righteous little prick think he is to lecture us on the matter of choosing in a democracy what sort of people we don't want as our neighbours?

"New South Wales Premier Mike Baird says Australia has reached a fork in the road in its refugee policy and will be denying its history if it closes the door on new arrivals.

"To shut our doors to refugees, as many here and around the world are calling for, is to deny our history, to deny our character.

"In a quest for personal comfort let us not sacrifice who we are above all, which is welcoming, compassionate and inclusive."

What a wånker -- what a Luvvy.

You can choose your own neighbour.  But in a democracy you can't tell me who I get to choose as my neighbours.

And Baird is right.  Stop trying to destroy our cultures and values.

I'm not too sure these soldiers died so that mosques could be built all over Australia.

Actually that's exactly what they died for: for freedom.  People building a religious centre for their religion, as dumb as this may be, is part of freedom.

But I stand with you in wishing people stopped building this type of sh1t. No mosques. No temples. No churches. No synagogues. It's all bullcrap that takes up valuable land that can be used for actual meaningful things.  We should convert all these religious buildings into big swinger bars. That'll teach em.

Freedom, my ass. They died to protect the Suez Canal which was strategic to the British Empire. I admire their courage, but they went because duty called, and secondly, to prove what Australians were made of.

There wouldn't have been a soldier, sailor, or airman who went to war hoping that one day their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren would grow up in suburbs where the majority of residents are non-White, Third World, and mosque-builders all glorifying under a non-assimilationist policy of Multi-Nationalism.

They didn't fight for some vague and fuzzy notions of 'freedom' - They wanted to preserve the white European demographics of the Australia they had grown up in as a legacy to be passed on to their future progeny.

Herb, I presume we are talking about the Anzacs who went off to WW1. I don't get where the demographic of Australia comes in. That demographic was never threatened by Imperial Germany or the vanity of the Kaiser's field marshals. A generation of German aristocrats had grown up tales of thumping the French in short summer campaigns. This was bolstered by antagonism toward British industrial export hegemony and envy of Empire.

If German had defeated France in 1914, they would not have imposed a new order on the French or anyone else. A new generation of German militarists wanted to live up to the success of the Prussian forbears of 1870. Once Britain went to the aid of France, the dominions and colonies did what they saw as their duty. They did not fight to preserve their rights or racial make-up.

I am. One of the values fought for in both wars was the freedom to practice your religion without persecution.

For Irish Catholics especially, this was a value worth fighting for, even if the British Empire wasn’t.

Great picture though.

Correct - they went off to the First World War from Australia because a great many of them were in fact British immigrants who were experiencing mass unemployment because of the jobs situation at the time, with many of the Aussie country lads joining up for a bit of a lark with their mates.

Despite the official propaganda almost none of these men enlisted because of noble sentiments about fighting for God, the King, and the British Empire. It was a lark and a caper with travel and Parisian brothels as the main attraction.

A Boys' Own Adventure.

My cousin was one of these poor, naive Unfortunates who didn't have the vaguest idea of what he was volunteering for. He died in Belgium in 1917. A school in southern NSW has a plaque with his name on it.

Rabid nonsense. (Have you had your shots yet? Do you panic when you see water?)

Religion had absolutely nothing to do with either of these wars.

A few migrants populating our suburbs - yes. Very welcome. But when it comes to a situation of Critical Mass where you can walk through whole Sydney suburbs and by the demographics not have a blind clue what country you are in if you didn't already know - then that's WAAAAAAY past the immigration's Use By Date with bringing in Third Worlders, Blacks, and Muslims.

In my humble opinion.

Oh, indeed. Irish Catholics opposed conscription during WWI. Plenty were imprisoned.

As for the Jews, well. Non-religious Jews were put into the ovens with the Jehova Witnesses, Quakers and even God-fearing Lutherans who tried to follow the example set by their prophet.

Still, I tend to agree. Religion did have nothing to do with these wars.

Correct.

Not the British nor any of her allies kitted up for war with Germany and Japan with even the slightest notion that they were on a religious crusade.

Same with Hitler's Germany. The killing of the Jews was an afterthought that wasn't even initiated by Hitler. Hitler's war was about lebensraum and the creation of a Greater Germany.

But you can believe that the values the GIs and Thommies and even ANZUS fought for were about freedom versus tyranny - not in WWI (the "last imperial war"), but WWII.

Since the winding back of the French revolution, it has been left to the Anglosphere to defend these values, even if it does so in name alone.

You just don't get it, do you?

99% of those young men who went to war were simple folk who had no care or aptitude for philosophising about what they were being given a rifle for. They just did what they were told - and that was enough for them. In many cases they were lambs to the slaughter in almost the same way as the Jews were lambs to the slaughter.

Your 'noble ideals' philosophising was the last thing on their minds. They simply became herd animals obeying orders from on high.

But of course. But those speeches delivered from on high were all about the rather quaint, old-fashioned notion of freedom that separated us from the goose-stepping Bosch.

You wouldn't remember, dear. It was before the accident.

Both my parents were in the Army during WW2. Going by their accounts of when the war broke out 1939, the perception of the enemy was quite different to that of 1914. The Axis and its intentions were quite well known to them, and they knew what the Japs were up to in China. My grandfather, WW1 vintage, spoke German and used to do impersonations of Hitler's speeches which cracked everyone up. Perceptions were mixed until the fall of Singapore. Then it was survival.

No, they wanted to preserve an Australia where people were able to govern themselves and live by their own values. One of which is freedom of religion. There may have been a few that simply wanted to keep a white Australia but we talk for the group, not for a few.  Sorry herb, but the reason for fighting wasn't about keeping Australia as white Australia.

Poppycock with a cherry on top.

The vast majority wanted The Face of Australia to remain as it had been for the past 7 or 8 generations ...(and why the hell wouldn't they?) .. ie. White Europeans of Judaeo-Christian background.

But then the Australian government signed away its national sovereignty and the democratic right of its people to choose whomsoever they wish to be migrants to their homeland.

Bob Hawke later confessed he engineered the 25,000 Chinese refugee influx from northern China without any mandate via a referendum precisely because he knew it would never get passed.

Malcolm Fraser did the same thing with his holus-bolus refugee program from the civil war in Lebanon which opened the gates wide to a mass-influx of Muslims from the Levant. Again, he confessed he didn't put it to a referendum for fear it would be knocked back by the Australian public.

Over and over again our politicians have been making crucial decisions at the behest of the International Socialists at UN headquarters instead of from the Australian people.

And then famously, Bob Menzies said Australians enjoy democracy only on one day every four years.

The demographics of Australia today has had nothing to do with the Australian people having any choice in the matter.

And the whole world traded furiously with Japan during their post-war economic heyday. They were celebrated on the world stage as a hard working productive people who should be proud of themselves.

Never did we hear or read words from our Leftwing media of the sort that are now freely bandied about to shame and to bludgeon Australian dissenters into silence for wanting to stop any further importations of aliens of colour, culture, and religion.

The Japs were spared words like 'bigots' - 'xenophobes' - 'Islamophobes'.

Sorry, a nice person.

It takes your kind of mendacious stupid to twist freedom of religion into Australians fighting in two wars for the right of Jihadi fVckers to build mosques in Australia.

I agree. What Homo is doing here, through the clever use of a metaphor, is juxtaposing African American celebrities with human faeces, and by so doing, indicating that you are a sodomite for being able to pass such large brown stools.

You see? It's clever minds like this we need in this country. That, and Voltairean democrats like the old boy.

How can people talk down our rich Australian culture? With people like this, we're sure to become the best colonial backwater the world has ever seen.
