Given GMod perceptions now made an issue of this matter today, I thought there had to be a way to get some transparency/accountability/consistency on this endemic issue of abuse.  Maybe making public the complaints sent in might be a way.  I've just sent this PM to Andrei Hicks, and we will all soon be able to see any outcome.

Now, I have fairly actively avoided commenting here, the abuse thread etc etc etc.

Not that I am opposed to the threads in any moral sense, people chose to behave badly, then the spotlight should be put on that.

Yet, we occasionally run into an interesting dilemma.

I wrote to the mods and FD this morning regarding a post made by a Mod that was clearly in breach of rules in the very thread that another mod was pointing out the rules to us plebs....

The only obvious response was that the offending post has been sneakily edited, without any evidence of the edit, no admission of hypocrisy, wrong doing or unreliability...

All I ever ask for regarding moderation etc is consistency, sadly, the only consistency is unreliability and now it seems blatant dishonesty...

Very disappointing.

For the moment, I will refrain from posting the actual complaint as posted to Mods. For now!

Funnily enough, this particular thread that seems so hated by many has the one redeeming feature of being able to provide evidence.

Fair enough.  There has to be some way of having the work of GMods made much more transparent, and ATM accountability (other than to FD) is completely lacking.

As for what actions I take or may take, those are my decisions, not yours!

And, decisions made by GMods are not usually broadcast, so it is not likely that anyone, outside of the member/s involved, will find out what may or may not happen.

I can't speak for others PN, but integrity would be the best thing demonstrated by mods...

The rules here are not enforced and therefore irrelevent, except to those who seemingly fall out of favour... Is that the best standard you can aspire to?

I sent to you, Hicks, Annie and FD (Apologies Gandalf) a message yesterday, highlighting where Mr Hicks circumvented deliberately the word filter in the very same thread YOU threatened banning people over exactly that...

What was the response? The only obvious one was an unrecorded edit (presumably by Hicks) to change the word back....

Mr Hicks used a 1 followed by the letters diot, deliberately. This then did not change the word to idiot...

Given a number of you got the PM and the only visible response is a dishonest and sneaky one, one can only assume you being complicit in the deceit.

Not even an apology - the sheer arrogance alone is appalling. In short, you are not really mods you are members with extra benefits. Not good enough by any standards.

You don't need to tell everyone what you are thinking, what you are doing or what action is taken, but what's outlined above - you and your fellow Mods absolutely also do not need to be demonstrating sneaky and dishonest, especially whilst laying down the law to others who may or may not be in favour.

Of course, I would be happy to do this via PM, but, given more than a few comments, honestly why would I either trust that system, expect a fair discussion or have faith in receiving some honesty, integrity and consistency?

I do.  I have never denied being Mod. and I also created Aussie2 when the 'Aussie' account was stuffed up by a software bug.  Each all done in open with FD's agreement and full co-operation.

If any alleged sock of mine was logged in during a ban on 'Aussie' you and I would not be having this conversation.  I'd still be banned.

As for the rest, you said you were  not banned, but given what the mods have to say about you your word can not be accepted as truthful. Maybe you were maybe you were not.
They may not have known you were logged in during a ban, in particular if you used a sock they were not aware of. I consider it a community service to bring to their attention at least one known sock of yours was logged in here during the time you were logged in elsewhere but not here and also another sock of yours was logged in too. You of course will deny, but you've proven time and time again your word is worthless. 8-)  My work is done here, I just wanted it out there and I have achieved that. 8-) nighty night.

Mozzaok can speak for himself.  My signature is a reference to a comment made by Mozzaok about someone long gone from here.  I have not hounded anyone.  If there has been any hounding it has come from the crowd from elsewhere who, as is quite apparent, want to continue a personal argument from elsewhere.  Let it go, skipppeeee.  This is not about me, or a petulent child.  Can't you see how totally absurd your obsession with the long ago and forgotten past is?  That place is history.  Leave it and your grievances there.  I'm not going to allow Relationships to become the new elsewhere.  Please co-operate.

The very great problem of violence against women starts off with disrespect.
