Closet poms won't pay the premium for Australian manufactured products.
The only known exception is Map of Tassie Merkins. Now there's a product that could be marketed for Australia day if it was dyed in red white and blue colours. |

Business is about making a profit. If you are in the thong or flag business, nationalism is just sentimentality. Buy cheep, sell steep, and move your banking off shore. Then you'll be able to get out at a leisurely pace. A country without borders is f***ed anyway.

We'd be better off not celebrating Australia at all. That would save 100's of tons of plastic rubbish ending up in landfills and the ocean :( |

Oh talk about throwing the baby out with the bath water. Of course we can still celebrate Australia Day. Just don't buy the freaking merchandise. It's not as if someone's got a gun to your head forcing you to buy the damn stuff. We celebrate the day with a family/friends bbq. Given the numbers involved, that's expensive enough without paying for overpriced/overseas made junk. |

Would save plenty of money that's wasted on fireworks too. And, the streets wouldn't be full of vomit and passed out nationalists the next day. |
