-I don't like it when the stock exchange is closed.
-Inane family discussion is a drag
-I get sick of ham and think about becoming a muslim
-I can't drink enough anymore

I heard that Xmas is the worst time of the year for family arguments.

All shopping is complete with fresh fruit now in the esky.....ready for shipment (via one of the Cabs....as we intend to have a beer or three) to the Beach tomorrow morning. Santa's bag all packed ready to go as well. Ankle biters in the morrow.

Wonder how many golf tees I get.

- it's all gone too commercial
- decorations start appearing in stores in November
- the usual threads on forums and news items about one religious group getting upset about another's celebrations
- the fact that Easter eggs will appear in the stores next week.

Don't always take me seriously Johnno, I do write a lot of bs you know, though I can't see why the stock market can't keep running. They could just let the robots do it. They're doing it most of the time anyway.

I agree mine has started off on the wrong foot...it has cast a shadow over my day...but I will survive...I have what I call an attack member in my family.. not matter what you say...it will be wrong...and guess who said it wrong this time...lololol..

I wont keep to myself.. because that hurts other people who done not a thing....

so on this day Bobs we lift our game.. its just for a few hours...in one day of the year....

so you cheer up!say the least... maybe drink the most... not me though ..... indulge in the turkey and chips..and dips...watch the childrens faces as they play with the latest and greatest...".look what santa brought ME".....

it is only one day out of 365...

or genetic ... but it's not limited to one race. I've seen many women both anglo and asian women with thin hair. Although I have to admit I haven't seen black or aboriginals with thin hair ... mind you the number of black women I see is small compared to Asian and white women

It's not age cods. It's being made to use something new. Some people don't like it, especially conservatives. I'm older but have no problem with new tech. Your's and other oldie's problem is that you ignored it for years whereas some embraced it in the '80s.

edit: When you blame age, you know it's time for that sweet green pasture.

Yes - crazy thing about us men getting older is that all the other body hair including in our ears gets longer and stronger the more our head mop falls out... I'd say the same happens with some women, who do indeed have thinning hair, though not as bad as men in most cases.

Funny thing is male balding is an X carried gene and only expresses when there are not two Xs. Your mother makes you bald if you are. Thanks for my full head of hair mum! Females do bald, had a lady neighbour a few houses up a few years ago that was exceptionally thin. No patches but the whole lot thin.

thank you bobs... it all went well and I spoke to the person.. [no mention of said dispute]...she is overseas so it wsnt an all day thingy..

families are funny places to be arent they...some folks I know spend the day going from house to house because one person or other doesnt get on with that person and therefor wont be in the same room.. and so it goes on...

and then we rubbish the Middle East...lololol...

Try it for yourself on this very board. If someone annoys you, love them as you love thyself. Turn the other cheek. Forgive them.

This will translate into your everyday interactions, you’ll see. You will learn grace. People will respond accordingly. Your friends will be impressed.

I don't know if it was the excitement of santa having been or not, but my two boys (6 and 3.5 yr olds) had what was probably their worst day ever as far as behavior goes on Christmas day..... by the time they got to bed I was ready to kill someone. From 6 am, until bedtime at 8pm, it was non stop tantrums (they took turns all day) and fighting amongst themselves. Then came bedtime

we went through their usual evening ritual, gave them each a kiss and a cuddle good night, and then my 6 year old said to my wife (and I quote)
'you know mummy, the best present a kid can get at Christmas is a kiss and a hug from his mummy and daddy' ....

little bugger ::) ... how could anyone stay angry at him after that? he sure knows how to play mummy and daddy's tune.

And yep, surprise surprise, we ended up having dramas on Xmas day, things were misconstrued, I misheard (typical, am rather deaf anyway, and get told off all the time for not wearing hearing aids!)....but drink, that has plenty to do with it.....too much of it in fact.....pims really got to me....hubby had a bad toothache, the son's girlfriend's sister and her bf are not talking, so her parents had to do the double xmas thing for both daugthers separately, my daughter had been to her bf's sister's place, then to grandma's, then was too tired to drive into the city for us, and then she said she would, then she said she wouldn't, and I thought, this day is turning to shyte! My son is in a shirty mood with his sister, blaming her bf, and it's only today, after all that (her birthday was on Sunday) that presents under the xmas tree were finally opened in our house! (so who says they have to be opened on xmas day unless you have eager little kids?)

Everyone texting me past midnight on xmas night about their grizzles with each other, and then, I went to bed, and decided, tomorrow's another day, get over it all, act like nothing happened, sober up and move on...and you know what, it worked :)

I really think, not only the full moon and full of alcohol did it, but the fact too much goes into just one day....too much of everything, the presents, wrapping, tree decor, other decor, shopping, cooking more than usual, and all for one day. I even wore glitzy xmas earrings all day and night that hurt my ears!

Next year, I am going to pizz off for xmas on a cruise! ;D ;D

Christmas can be a good time to reflect on why you only see these people for a few hours per year.

Then again, sometimes you can get a nice surprise and see that one or more of these people have become somebody that you'd now like to know.

It's not all that bad.

I love Christmas too and have always loved it- I ask myself am I religious and the answer is increasingly more and more a yes- but you would not really know it if you actually knew me, it is certainly not obvious.

I also think on the very practical side more and more just an exercise in excess /greed and consumerism, so that most certainly detracts from the whole.

Anyway a drink and forget about it
