Erdogan said he would resign if it could be proved Turkey was helping the Islamic state.
Erdogan jailed 2 journalists who supplied evidence of Turkey helping the Islamic state.

Erdogan must have a hotline to the Jihadis in Syria, how else could he organise for the dead Russian's bodies to be returned to Russia.

The SU 24 was no match for a F16 it has no real defences apart from chaff and flares, it would be the equivalent of clubbing baby seals for the F16 pilot.

Erdogan must be butthurt Putin is blowing up the Caliphate oil deliveries run by his son Bilal Erdogan, he is blowing up the cut your heart out and eat it moderate rebels backed by Turkey.
I reckon Erdogan must be desperate to get rid of the Russians and using Nato might be the only way he can do it.

ive encountered several horses that are , what i would call "untrustworthy" .

the term in the industry for such a horse (and you should never ride one) is a counterfeit.

when you are around horses long enough you can look into their eyes, you can almost stare into their soul and you can see if they are counterfeit or not.

when i stare into Mr Putins eyes i see no sign of a counterfeit man.
i see a guy who is 100 % trustworthy.

if vlad says he is going to do something, he is going to do it.  its a rare attribute in leaders nowadays.

one doesnt even have to have a good eye to know that
Obama and Cameron are counterfeit to their core

Top post. You've nailed it.

Turkey is now in the process of extorting billions out of the West on a deal to secure their borders against the wrong type of people coming and going from the Syrian war zone.

Nice little money-earner.

When I look into Putin's eyes I see the perfect person to play the lead role in the next series of the Hannibal Lecter franchise ...

I think the Turks made a mistake that Putin will make them pay for again ... and again .. and again. He's not the forgive-and-forget kind.

If Turkey was ruled by Selahattin Demirtas a Kurdish MP there would be some hope.

Erdogan won the recent election with a greater majority after jailing his political opposition along with journalists critical of his dictatorship.

Insulting Erdogan is an offence that can have you jailed in Turkey, there is a video of a horse kicking him in the nuts on youtube.

Erdogan is the bastard who has brought Islam back into the mainstream of life. Ataturk must be rolling in his grave.

Only weeks after Merkel made a speech in which she told the country's Turkish immigrants that if they didn't think they were 'German' - then they should go back to Turkey ... Erdogan made a state visit in which he told the Turks (in Turkish) ~ "NEVER forget who you are! Turkish!"

;D

Erdogan did say the term moderate Islam is insulting.

He has done over 300 airstrikes against the Kurds and less than 5 against the Caliphate, the word I have is the ones aimed at the Caliphate ended up in empty fields.

He does not want the Kurds to cross the Euphrates river he has made this clear, it means he prefers the Caliphate in that area over the Kurds.

From what I hear the Turkeys have become chickens with flying since Putin brought in the S400's, that would be some serious pucker factor for their pilots

If you use google earth where Turkey claims this plane crossed their border its a stretch about 2.5 km wide which they claim was violated for 17 seconds.
The Turkish claims don't add up.

The Turks and the Russians. Who do you trust? Ataturk's western style reforms are being eroded and the Islamists are gaining power in Turkey. Putin is all bent out of shape because they shot one of his planes down. It would have been nice to see him a bit more concerned when his friends shot down the Malaysian airliner.

Did they?

Or was it the Ukraine air force?

Russia was bombing ethnic Turkish rebels in Syria. Turkey had already given them the coordinates and warned Russia to stay away.

Instead, Russia chose to fly through Turkish air space in an attempt to bomb Turkey’s friends in Syria. The ethnic Turks shot the pilot, which is how Turkey was able to return the body to Russia.

Turkey is a member of NATO, so Russia had better be careful what it wishes for.

Russia will lick its wounds and play the game. Putin does not want a fight with the Western powers - until he’s good and ready.
