I will probably give it a go.. I do like the cooking shows...although at the same time they annoy the heck out of me.. for instance.. masterchef  Marco whom I could tip a bucket over said he likes his food hot.. yet after every test they have wall to wall mess and by the time they take their food up to the judges the place is clean as a whistle... and the food must be dead cold... I feel cheated somehow...I make a terrible mess when I cook..and it doesnt go away in a flash. and I cant stand cold food either.

I have to admit that it is definitely a My Kitchen Rules takeoff.  Channel 9 must be totally bereft of new ideas.

Channel 9 also tried to cash in on 7's popularity when The Block lost ratings due to their pandering that that idiotic Dee and Darren duo.  So they made a new show and poached teams that had previously competed in 7's My House Rules.  Poor form IMO.

They need to come up with fresh ideas and stop trying to swing off the success of Channel 7 shows.

Having said that I tried the new 7 show Restaurant Revolution and wasn't impressed so I am now trying out this Hotplate.  The contestants are a bunch of w a n k e r s but I like the Frenchman and his son.  The gay guys are so up themselves I wonder if they can cook   ;D

Why do these shows think that their ratings will be better if they recruit douches?

by all reports, it looks like its going to be a humiliating night for the "gays"

I can't wait... !!  ;D

Well they sure did crash and burn.  Most people do when they talk themselves up too much.

The salmon and risotto looked gag worthy.

hilarious...  ;D

never over sell yourself in that situation as you'll come crashing down on your face...

it was telling when they were looking for stuff, the apricots, and they had to ring the "chef" to see where they were.. and he knew exactly where they were...

there wasn't any.. he knew off the top of his head...

I have no doubt that they have a good restaurant...

but its the people who are working "for them" who are making it what it is...

those two clowns were hopeless...  ;D

The verdict will be handed down tomorrow on Hotplate.   I wonder what will happen?

It looks like Channel 7 is admitting their Restaurant Revolution is a dud too and replacing Tuesday's prime slot with cat videos instead.  LOL.

Post by cods on Aug 6th, 2015 at 11:33pm
I am watching it but I think its more for the people than anything to do with the food....its weird really.. restaurant owners and they dont like any of the food its "not to my palate"......right but thats everything...lol...

but yes dont we all want the gay pair to flop badly....

I do wonder if they are all really restaurant owners.. the last pair Loz and Nolly..a seafood restaurant and she had never cooked prawns before.... ::) ::)

I can smell fake...

I quite like the other show..but the format is confusing...they seem to be crowding too much in the one program..as they are all new at the game they should be doing more to teach them .. rather than criticise  them as if they are  a two hat restaurant...

one thing about these shows.. theres no cars being blown up and no rolling around in beds...which kind of gets.. tiresome... well its even in the ads.. :( :(

7 lost the first stage they wanted the show taken off the air.. but the judge said no....didnt understand the reason why....but dont think its over..maybe channel 7 didnt copyright it..

just about everything with Neil Perry in it fails..

I think that there's a decision today on the two shows...

with the 9 show I guess i'm watching it more for the people... they've been hilarious..

I couldn't wait to see the gays fail due to their bagging of other teams... they've been shown up for the little they do in the kitchen.. from cooking to ordering food etc...

but I do like them on the show as that little blondie headed guy has great one liner insults...  ;D

"this looks like a menu from the cafeteria of the United Nations"  ;D

or

"this room as more plastic in it than on Pamela Anderson"  ;D

The gays have become a lot more humble since their food flop.  I don't mind them at all now.  I feel like poking "Mrs Palate" in the eye though.

I didn't watch the beginning of the show and don't really understand its roots.  These people own restaurants but don't or can't cook?  Weird.

Even though the show hasn't been taken off the air yet the Judge still said  “I’m satisfied that Seven has a reasonable case for showing there has been an infringement of its copyright by Nine.”

How could he say anything else?  Entertaining or not it is still a blatant ripoff.

I hope the gays are washing their hands before preparing food given what they get up to.

I petered out just after the last Masterchef. I can't warm to any judges outside of MKR and Masterchef. I know, its sad.

I should hope that all people wash their hands prior to handling food.

well the GAYS have gone.. will we miss them NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

too phony for me...and Mother Christina  is one of a kind...gotta be..Iwould be quite concerned about giving her her marching orders.. ::) ::)

I have just realised Tom is son of Camilla??...no wonder he speaks broad uppercrust.

I ended up liking the gays when they became ever so humble after their big flop.  I would have preferred them to stay.  "Mrs Palate" drives me mad.

Yes, Tom is Camilla's son but he doesn't sound very upper crust to me.   He is obviously very well spoken but I know pommies who speak with many more plums in the mouth than he does.  I was a bit surprised actually.

yeah they drive the mrs mad as well... lol ...

I was sortta hoping the gays would stay as the little one had a heap of great one liners... lol

but the Italians did keep it together better last night.. they performed better under pressure...

but the gays did get good exposure... they'll be packed out this weekend..

disaster for the Italian girls last night with putting salt into the sponge cake...

oh dear...

so now they are in the "cook off" again being in the bottom two...

the old Girl told her daughter that she "had her back" no matter what and she did...

quite often you see people throwing others under the bus for mistakes but not Christina...

"no need to apologies, we're a team"

I can't stand that smug faced twerp Aron...  >:(

I cannot stand Aaron and his girlfriend either.  Never a nice thing to say.

I had to turn if off before it finished last night (I hate shows that consistently finish at odd times so you miss anything else you may want to watch) just as the daughter said she used salt instead of sugar in the cake.  I missed the looks on their faces as they bit into it.  Stupid stupid stupid   ;D

I hope the boys win the elimination.  They are the nicest ones on the show.

the young one made a decision to pull the sponge back out again..

but they could still taste the salt and were wondering where it came from ...  ;D

they also noticed that there was no sponge...  :o

a disaster like went the French boys were cooking under pressure...

I would have preferred that "Knowsley" was in the bottom 2.. the cook is pretty good.. I like her but .. "Knowsley" is just a stupid *****  >:(

it was funny when they all laughed at her when she said that the Qual was a little bit over cooked... this is from a woman who likes her steak like boot leather..  ;D

Weve been watching it here too. I like it better than Masterchef but not as much as MKR.

The French father looks like an arrogant bastard and Aaron and Vanessa are too whiny to be entertaining. I dont mind the Japanese girls, but the smaller one looked like she had some kind of mental illness last time they cooked. Her facial expressions during feedback were nuts.

well the Japanese girls won.. her facial expressions that she put on when complimented made me sick... I felt like punching her in the face.. lol

but it seems she did have issues when younger.. she didn't want to be Japanese all of her mothers living years... but now that her mother has died she is ashamed of her younger years and has now embraced her own culture. .. good for them anyways..

if A a ron and Vanessa had won I would have faid dinkum puked...

I could not stand Aaron and Vanessa and am so glad they did not win.  They were sour and much too critical the whole way through.  Having said that, the Jap girls started to irk me towards the end too   8-)

I think the French boys got the rough end of the pineapple too.

When people compliment food saying "it is the best in the competition", "utterly delicious", "incredible" etc how can they give out a 6?

A 6, to me, is just a small step above acceptable.
