I still find it interesting to look at what many considered flawed tools such as sea ice extent because they are still data that beckon questions... for instance you can't try and workout the stratification thing from this graph because you aren't forced to give a rationale that involves it so it's all- more or less- good.

This is still area so... sorry- figure 2 was the one I was thinking of actually but this one is over the years so i posted it this one instead... but I think volume is difficult to come by to be honest....

probably wouldn't mind seeing the updated version of that graph as 2013 looked interesting, but as you say: it is ice extent so back thru the uncertainty loop we go  :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
