Title: Indian
Post by Redneck on Feb 21st, 2015 at 3:50pm
I thought I might try Indian Takeaway tonight.

As I have only had Indian a couple of times years ago, what are the suggestions.

Say 3 mains and a side dish or two and a bread

I do like prawns.

I like Mango Chicken, Butter Chicken and small amounts of Naan (plain, garlic or cheese).

I don't like my seafood to be over-powered so I probably would not order seafood at an Indian restaurant.  I like to taste the delicate flavour of prawns, lobster, crab etc rather than having them drowned in spices.

Hope you enjoyed your meal.  What did you order?

Geez Redneck sorry I was not here at your whim to answer your Indian question for you.

Since sex is no longer my recreation, I am focusing more on food (like and eunuch would)

Then I just realised I know nothing about Indian food, sorry,, I mean I like it but have no idea what is what.

Do what I do just work your way through the menu over time.

Ive never liked Indian food, they seem to use a lot of lard and coconut milk in their cooking. Did a lot of travelling in  India and never caught on to it.  Im  a big fan of Asian food In general though, Nonya cooking being my favourite, a blend of chinese and malaysian. if you like spice, thats the way to go I reckon.

I want to make paneer (Indian cheese) and cook some paneer dishes.

The paneer making will be covered on my board but will post a recipe or two here.

OK, do you like spicy/

If so go for:

Chicken Vindaloo

Not so spicy.
Prawn Masala

Go for the tandoori platter as a starter. A variety of meats cook in a tandoor oven... love it.

Get garlic Naan bread.

Go for plan steamed rice, you don't need any of the fancy crap.

Now you have a great meal.

I don't normally go for Indian food but got a special delivery deal tonight.  I had no idea what most of the menu even was so I  went with what I know.

Butter Chicken
Mango Chicken
Chicken Tikka Masala
Garlic Naan

Hope it is ok  :)
