Title: Auto Darkening Welding Shields

I have a Weldcorp ADWS and the battery is either on the fritz, or not charging properly.

The battery is contained within the lens mechanism and is not replaceable.

"OK," says I to myself, "I'll replace the whole lens mech."

The only problem with that is that the lens is hard wired to the control knob on the side of the helmet with no way that I can see of separating the two.....i.e. No plug-in.

What am I supposed to do?
Throw the lot away and get a new one?
Paint a scary face on it and hang it on the door to scare away all the kids?

Any help would be gratefully accepted.
