Wow - going down before AGW. Scary for the alarmists.

Is that why the nuclear industry was trying to use it to sell nuclear power in Perth in the 1960s?

:)

I was talking IPCC inspired AGW which is since about 1970. The IPCC has previously said that the AGW until then was unmeasurable.

Of course now it is still unmeasurable, it is merely a whole lot of averaging with error bars wider than the 'warming'.

June snow cover and September sea ice extents: This graph shows sea ice and snow cover extents for the Northern Hemisphere from 1979 to 2012. The thick lines are 5-year running means. Note that the snow cover extent is for June (red) while the sea ice extent is for September (gray). Although both experienced overall declines, June snow cover decline exceeded September sea ice decline. Image adapted from Derksen and Brown 2012.

Or another view- this time anomalies

Unfortunately it is too large for the page. Of late the anomaly is for the most part positive.

Another view of Spencer Creek

Notes: This graph shows the depth of snow in the middle of August & September respectively (3rd week), over the period 1954-2012. The year to year variations are very evident in this graph. They do not seem to be predictable! The linear trendline shows no noticeable change to the avarage depth during August over the decades. But the peaks seem to be getting lower!

Climate change has been with us since day dot, otherwise we would still be a rock of cooled lava.

Climate change has cycles, how do I know, look into our history.

Climate change is controlled by the elements of nature and physics, not by mans emission of CO2.

Man's emissions of CO2 are puny compared with the natural CO2 thrown into our atmosphere by the oceans and the land.

CO2 doesn't control temperature here on Earth.

Otherwise it would have been apparent in our history.

Anthropogenic Global Warming is climate change pornography so please no more bullshit.

The ice in the arctic today is about the same as it was in 1938.

It comes and goes in cycles.

Research the past to understand the future.

How does the IPCC work?

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is a huge and yet very small organization. Thousands of scientists from all over the world contribute to the work of the IPCC on a voluntary basis as authors, contributors and reviewers. None of them is paid by the IPCC. The work of the IPCC is guided by a set of principles and procedures.

http://www.ipcc.ch/organization/organization_structure.shtml

** You've got all sorts contributing including level 8s that work in government departments and took 30 to 40 years learning how to write and read scientific method/reports getting there... that aren't payed by the IPCC they just get their normal wage for their normal job!

  :) :)

The question was who pays the IPCC.

The answer is -

'The IPCC receives funding from UNEP, WMO, and its own Trust Fund for which it solicits contributions from governments. Its secretariat is hosted by the WMO, in Geneva.'

So taxpayers pay the IPCC via the UN.

One tenth of the Carbon Tax was to be remitted to the UN.

'The Gillard Government is party to a UN agreement which Climate Change Minister Greg Combet entered into in December at a meeting in Cancun, Mexico, under which about 10 per cent of carbon taxes in developed nations will go into a Green Climate Fund.'

https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/8916664/carbon-tax-billions-to-help-poor-nations/

The Carbon Tax was supposed to be 'revenue neutral'. However, according to The Conversation, it was not.

'The carbon price will raise $24.5 billion over its first four years but will not be revenue neutral, putting the budget $4 billion in the red, the ABC reported.'

Yes, but the scientists involved that actually write up and take the measurements are being accused of taking dodgy money and they aren't! They get their standard pay for their standard government job they have spent 30 years or longer working their way up the levels to get where they are!

There's a fair bit of method involved in those reports and those methods change.

'Standard Government job'

Governments rule through fear- global cooling, nuclear winter, global warming. They use that fear to get elected or re-elected.

Scientists are a microcosm of society; replete with the rogues that plague humanity.

John Cook's 41 papers of those scientists that explicitly stated humans caused climate change not withstanding.  He then added in others that intimated or mentioned cAGW to pad the number to reach 97%.

'are being accused of taking dodgy money and they aren't'

I haven't seen that, but I can't be absolutely sure it doesn't happen either. I mean the Koch Bros fund a lot of pro- AGW universities. Penn State being one.

So,if they aren't on the take are they incompetent? A la one, M Mann, treemometers and upside down Tiljander graphs?

Is that why the nuclear industry was trying to use it to sell nuclear power in Perth in the 1960s?

:-? :-?  ;)

The proposed nuclear power plant near Perth was 1977.
1969 was the when the Jervis Bay nuclear power plant proposal.

The anti-nuclear movement didn't even really kick off until 1972 (when the French were doing tests at Moruroa Atoll)

Wow - going down before AGW.

I don't see the chart going back beyond 1896.

No, but it IS going down in 1953..

57 years after the theory of Global Warming was first put forward.

Well around that....although the 'theory of Global Warming' didn't get much traction until about the 1970s or so...

Is that why the nuclear industry was trying to use it to sell nuclear power in Perth in the 1960s?

:-? :-?  ;)

The proposed nuclear power plant near Perth was 1977.
1969 was the when the Jervis Bay nuclear power plant proposal.

ok ,... so you're telling me I'm a liar  ;) ;)

Misinformed perhaps...

-->you responded in less than 15 seconds i would have to have said,... whoah!

...something serious going on there buddy...  ::)

Nope, up late watching tv shows on the computer.

Actually from the link the only thing I can see  is -

'The worst ever before since 1979 was 17" in 2005'

Nothing to say "no data before 1979". Of course I could be wrong. So please point me to where it says there is no earlier data.

I feel sorry for you global warming nutjobs that think weather only began 200 years ago.  ;D

Meanwhile on planet Earth severe Californian droughts according to the records happen two to three times a century so even if we take the last ten thousands years which is an ecological minute in time thats 250 droughts, imagine if we went back millions of years  :D, of course the global warming religion believes Earth and weather was created in 1854 so they would never accept that sort of timeline  ;D
