Title: Should freedom of speech surrender to islam ?
Post by stryker on Jan 8th, 2015 at 7:58am
Religion, a mediaeval form of unreason, when combined with modern weaponry becomes a real threat to our freedoms. This religious totalitarianism has caused a deadly mutation in the heart of Islam and we see the tragic consequences in Paris today. I stand with Charlie Hebdo, as we all must, to defend the art of satire, which has always been a force for liberty and against tyranny, dishonesty and stupidity. ‘Respect for religion’ has become a code phrase meaning ‘fear of religion.’ Religions, like all other ideas, deserve criticism, satire, and, yes, our fearless disrespect.

Salman Rushdie is a 'reactionary', but his wrong, imo.

Religion, [is] a mediaeval form of unreason,.....

Religions, All forms of corruption, deserve criticism, satire, and, yes, our fearless disrespect.

'Religion' [per se], is not 'right' or 'wrong'.

Religion, is simply a 'concept' and a collection of ideas and ideals,   .....it is something with which we [mankind] strive to understand our circumstances.

But 'Religion', like so many things that have been 'touched' by men, has been corrupted by mankind.

But 'purity' is still 'out there' [or within us?], to be found [by men], if we are willing to seek for it.

Genesis 17:1
....the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

"All forms of corruption"?  Does that include Christianity Yadda?  Afterall, it's ritual cannibalism, it's endorsement of paedophilia, homophobia, gynophobia and attacks on non-believers for 2,000 years can't really go unnoticed, now can it?  ;D ;D ;D :D :D :D ;D ;D ;D :D :D :D

I hope you don’t go back on these words, Y.

K,

All that i am saying is that the person who 'is on the path' should not expect spiritual advancement, if he/she willingly joins himself/herself, to the 'knowledge' which the world offers to us [i.e. to every one of us].

Am i, myself, above this particular error ?

Not at all.

But on the whole;

I hate what many men love.

And i love what many men hate and/or despise.

e.g.
ISLAM

e.g.
Israel, God [i.e. God's righteousness, which is revealed in the holy bible]
