The city centre is now shut down with thousands of police everywhere, snipers on the roofs, everybody has the day off work, the local pub is shut, can't imagine how much disruption it has caused or money it has cost.
Question: Why cant these meetings with huge security concerns be held away from the large urban ares?
How about on a ship?.... :D...just sayin....

I've never understood why they don't do these things on some Island resort .... they can still have their meeting while living the life of luxury, without disturbing millions of people. Security would also be much much easier for them. Now half the states police force is in Brisbane watching empty streets, instead of doing their real jobs of revenue raising.

Having them in a city makes the most sense security-wise.

They want them spread about a bit, not centrally located the whole time like they would be in a resort.

They worked out where they're staying so as to allow for different travel paths, different parts of the energy grid etc.

It's safer for them, a bigger disruption for us.

I gather one or more of them are staying here on the Gold Coast, going off the 3am high speed practice motorcade runs up and down the motorway - although that could just be a ruse - I'd expect them to use helicopters if they were staying on the Coast.

Well, Sly has been reduced to the likes of 'The Expendables" and could be picking up a few bucks as a stand-in...

I disagree .... park them on some  Islands, or a group of islands and then park the Navy around them .... no one will get through. The real threat comes from lone psycho's or terrorists, not a nation attacking  ... this would eliminate that threat .
