Title: Islamic terrorists in China
Post by Baronvonrort on Sep 30th, 2014 at 1:35pm
Why is China having trouble with the religion of peace, China has not attacked any muslim countries.

Quote:
An overtly heavy security presence throughout Xinjiang has become the norm in this vast far western region of China, where bombings, mass knifings and bloody clashes with security personnel have occurred with sufficient regularity for the Chinese government to declare it the country's hotbed of terrorism

Security guards and Police officers have been stationed at schools in Xinjiang for at least a year.

The signs in China say the niqab is not permitted.

Quote:
Xinjiang official media said that 50 people including at least 40 suspected assailants, were killed in what authorities  called a terror attack.

Police took swift action and 40 attackers were either shot dead or took their own lives by setting off explosives, another 2 suspects were captured.

The blasts hit a shop,an open air market and 2 police stations around 5pm sunday.
Police said it was an organised and serious terrorist attack.

Xinjiang is a Muslim province.  It was only added to China at the end of the 19th century.  Therefore China did attack a Muslim country.   ;D ;D ;D :D :D :D

Xinjiang was a part of China in the Han dynasty which predates Islam by hundreds of years.

Before 1884, Xingjiang was ruled intermittently by China and other powers. It was not until that year that it was actually made a province of the Qing Empire.   Even I can read Wikipedia Baron, why can't you?   ;D ;D :D :D ;D ;D :D :D ;D ;D :D :D ;D ;D

So asks the guy who wonders what all the fuss is with banning long beards.

The Chinese are attempting the same cultural genocide of the uighurs they did to the tibetans. Baron thinks the more "acceptable" reaction should be to roll over and die like the Tibetans are doing.

The Tibetans aren't rolling over but they dying.  There have been a succession of large and small protests, ranging from all out rioting in Lhassa through to individual self-immolations.   So much so, that the Chinese government has banned any publicity for Tibets who set themselves alight because of the bad PR their rule is getting.

Xinjiang's history is actually quite interesting, particularly in the latter part of the 19th century when it was ruled by Yukeb Bey, who was an Afghan warlord who it over when the Chinese turned their backs.   The Russians, the British, the Afghans and the Chinese all attempted to oust him or buy influence with him at various times, all as part of the "Great Game" of Kipling's Kim fame.   None were particularly successful until he died.  Then the Chinese reasserted their control and as HB pointed out, made the place a province, rather than a territory of the Chinese Empire.   Today, it's where China's meagre oil reserves are, where they used to test nuclear weapons and where their space launch complex is.   They have been emigrating large numbers of Han into the province for some time, attempting to overwhelm the Uighurs.   Its no wonder the Uighurs are annoyed.   ::)

What I wrote came from a synthesis of several books I have on "The Great Game", a topic I've been interested in now for some time, ever since I read Kim by Kipling as a boy.
