Title: I find this funny
Post by bogarde73 on Sep 12th, 2014 at 1:50pm
My Microsoft Live Mail has just decided to send a Tony Abbott email to the junk folder. Ha Ha Ha!

Microsoft is deciding what I should read now? It knows what is best for me?

It did advise me of course what it was doing.

Are you REALLY sure you want to do this?  If you send this email to junk it will make me very annoyed.   Are you certain this is the best course for us both and the other occupants of this capsule?

It was out of my hands. Microsoft has control of my mind now.

I reckon Rupert Murdoch had a hand in this. :D

Who else has the power and money to shape political debates, to the point that one of the most prominent IT companies in the world, an American tech giant, starts getting involved in our politics?

Only Steve Jobs knows how to create a reality distortion field. Microsoft can try, but it usually fails because MS behaves like a hammer, not a screwdriver.

Steve Jobs got it right when he said that Microsoft has no taste. The decision to send Tony Abbott's emails to the junk mail folder is one example.

I hate Apple. it is a technology company that works fine as long as you do what they say, when they say and how that want you to do it. want an app on your iphone?  only if apple agrees.

I agree here. It's an example of corporate rent-seeking, where the company wants to continue to extract money from its customers even after they have sold them the product.

If you buy something, it is yours to own, not to rent. I won't buy any product where the product is effectively leased, and the life of the product is limited by design. Try changing the battery on many Apple products yourself - you can't.
