Title: The crystal ball that is our future
Post by red baron on Sep 9th, 2014 at 3:01pm
Australia has had the benefit of be able to put on the 'rose coloured glasses' anytime we feel like it.

Wars go on overseas, sometimes we are involved sometimes we aren't but it is always 'over there'.

There is a time bomb ticking in Australia and it's due to go off any old time. The ISIS Jihadists have called on their followers world wide to attack the West 'where they live'.

Does anyone here think, yes everywhere except here, after all this is OZ.

The wake up call will come as a shock, when the first zealot has the gonads to step over the line and carry out ISIS orders on our soil.

This will be a hair trigger effect, which will encourage more of the (usually) young to prepare to 'die for the cause'.

Australia will morph into the 'frightened society' and the innocence, that is the hallmark of this Country, will disappear in a flash, never to return.

Am I a dooms dayer? No I'm a realist and every one of you should think about how best you are going to protect your families, when these crazies set themselves loose.

Hey Cods do you think Karnal would allow us to share his dugout? Personally I want someone who can shoot the top off a bottle at one mile and all without a wind sock.. I think Karnal, most probably still has the skill set.

no dugouts for me either... eyeball to eyeball..

some persons only skill is the speed they can run away from anything remotely to do with fighting.

They said the same thing about the French once. And the Dutch. Then the Russians, then the Krauts.

Then the Krauts again, then the Japs, then the Russians again as well. The Chinks got a good look-in, and the Indonesians have always been up there, somewhere - after the Dutch, of course.

Whenever we've been short of someone, we found the boongs. When we ran out of boongs, we discovered the leftards. Thank heavens for small mercies, eh?

The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.

Good topic Red Baron, perhaps the posters could stop trying to slag off the other side of their politics and comment on the subject.

I am sure there are as many lefties that support some action on ISIS as rightards.

They may doubt Abbotts enthusiasm and motives though!

Hi Karnal, if I have my history right, when Ming Menzies was P.M. when WW2 was on and before Curtin took over; Ming Menzies wanted  us to retreat to the 'Brisbane line' where we would turn it on for the Japs.

Fortunately Pig Iron Bob was dumped as P.M. and the great John Curtin took over.

Turning to the present, I would my probably be in line for a throat trim, I'm afraid it's a bit late in the innings to swear ever loving allegiance to Allah

Incidentally, reading through all your history lesson, do you think that there is a threat or is just as make  believe as the Japs pretending to invade us by dropping more bombs on Darwin than Pearl Harbour?

Extremism isn't a concept devoted to, or affiliated with Islam. This is what people forget... tunnel vision mentalities, separatist mentalities, where the need for war is determined by religion or race.

Another thing that is forgotten is that we all descend from one source, Islamic people weren't always as they are now, as I wasn't always a part of a "Western Christian civilisation".

If these people hating on the entirety of Islamic faith lived next door to an Islamic family, I can guarantee you that they wouldn't even have the cuts to confront them. Most of this is big tough keyboard warrior talk, a forum provides an outlet for wannabe warmongers.

Chickenhawks -- people who never signed up to fight a war, but support it behind the safety of their homes, computers, etc.

No

because right now they are all in Syria doing their bit for ISIS....or dont you read the papers..

what do you think will happen when they have done their deeds over there.??

.. and lets for an instance believe they WIN....do you think our men in Syria will want to return here?????...

what do you think? should they be allowed to come back and move into a house nextdoor to you and your family???....do you think we should treat them as bad guys or good guys????

maybe even pretend what going on over there didnt really happen at all...all American propaganda  ::)

I used to hate refugees. I would run them down, make snide comments about Indians, call them worthless spongers, they should all be shot, etc based on the concerns of the economy, job losses, etc. I was all for "white power" "patriotism" "proud to be Aussie" and had that disgusting mentality.

But then I thought about it, after a time; if I lived in a war-torn or third world country, and if I had a way out, would I take it? The answer is yes, which is what most of us would say.

I am now of the belief that the human life, no matter where it comes from or what its faith is, is much more important than the petty, selfish, ridiculous economy, which is orchestrated by greedy scumbags who don't give two cr.aps about human life, or even each other.

where do these chickhawks you mention LIVE....

I did watch 4 corners on e night and it was very disturbing.. young Syrian men living in terror from ISIS because they dish out the same punishment to them as the infidels for not joining their mission...

this man told the camera [with face covered of course] that most did not want to join and kill...but fear made them.. his eyes were haunted...

no these people are not keyboard warriors not at all...

we dont live in fear here.. we have no idea what that is like.

warmongers an old fashioned word....

not really we do what needs to be done... not because we want too because we have too...

if you think these people will never come to us.........

well I for one hope you are right.

The country has already been invaded, just in a "politically correct" way.

Exactly. It's now politically correct to blame Islam for everything. If you don't, you're that heinous breed of wishy-washy softcock known as a "spineless apologist".

We all blame Islam here.

Chickenhawks -- people who never signed up to fight a war, but support it behind the safety of their homes, computers, etc.

where do these chickhawks you mention LIVE....

I'm talking about people on this forum and other forums like this, spreading anti-Islam all over the place when the problem isn't the religion itself, it is the demented minds of the people who formed ISIS.
I am also talking about politicians who send people to war, and media representatives who sit there and support war when they would never send themselves or their children to war. Chickenhawks.

If you have to defend yourself, you have no choice. But that is a whole different ball game to getting involved in a war, thus attracting attention to the country putting everybody inside the country at risk.

The reason I started this thread is that ISIS is urging Moslems across the world to rise up against their host nations...It is the way of the Jihad.

As I have posted earlier, there are 500,000 Moslems in Australia, most of them peace loving people getting on with it.

However it would be extremely naive at the least to think that there is not at least a small percentage who hate us with a vengeance and are ready and willing to commit to the Jihad.

Therein lies the conundrum

If the small percentage that hated us really hated us, why would they move here?
Other than to take over, which is what ISIS want?
Having said that, you have a point. But we shouldn't punish all Islamic people for this percentage.
It's like punishing all Christians for being pedophiles.

Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. You can't preach something without looking at your own flaws first. This is important, but one common thing with ignorance is that people don't even acknowledge their flaws or even believe they exist, which brings us to the consciousness of today's people. Everyone is driven by their egos and adopt belief systems that helps them put a veil over their own flaws, much like the priest of a catholic church who molests children.
I wouldn't say I've "got it" completely, but I think I'm on the right track at the very least. I know some people here disagree with that because they think I'm insane for some of my beliefs, but they have no concept of why and don't even want to know why, "credible facts and evidence" is their religion, which is fair enough but that line of thinking is dangerously close to ignorance, but history continues to repeat itself and nobody ever seems to learn from it.

It's ignorance, selfishness and lack of understanding.
It is for this reason alone that the fate of all the countries in the world are in the hands of bankers, corporations and leaders who have silver spoons jammed up their backsides.

It was announced on Channel 9 News last night, that our Security Levels are to be reviewed. It is anticipate that the level will be upgraded from medium to high.

The Security Organisations state that they are extremely concerned about Moslem fighters returning from the Middle East after taking part in the fighting.

A high security level in Australia is regarded that attacks are likely.

Asio 'actively considering' raising Australia's terror threat level to high

Asio chief David Irvine says risks posed by homegrown militants have increased his concern about domestic national secucurity

Australia’s top spy has signalled he is “actively considering” lifting Australia’s current terror alert level due to increased concerns about domestic national security risks posed by homegrown militants.

David Irvine told the ABC on Tuesday night that the current terror warning sat at a “very elevated level of medium” but the Australian Security and Intelligence Organisation (Asio) was considering lifting it above that level.

“I would say that at the moment it is at a very elevated level of medium and I’m certainly contemplating very seriously the notion of lifting it higher because of the numbers of people that we are now having to be concerned about in Australia, because of the influence of Syria and Iraq on young Australians – both in terms of going to those places to fight, but also in terms of what they are doing here in Australia, with a potential intent to attack,” the Asio chief said Tuesday night.

Asked whether the threat level would be changed in the coming days, ahead of his planned retirement at the end of this week, Irvine said: “It’s something that we in Asio are actively considering.”

Irvine said the domestic threat had been building in Australia, “certainly over the last year or so”. He said recent events in the Middle East had made him more concerned about domestic national security threats. Irvine noted that Australia had been “lucky” to avoid a terrorist incident on our soil.

The British government recently adjusted its terrorism threat level from “substantial” to “severe” in recognition of the risks posed by radicalised individuals and returning fighters from the sectarian conflicts in Syria and Iraq.

At the time of the UK adjustment, the Abbott government said it remained in close contact with overseas allies about the terrorism threat. The attorney general George Brandis said the Australian designation of “medium” indicated that a domestic terror attack could occur.

“This level is under constant review by the Australian government and is based on advice from security and intelligence agencies,” Brandis said on 30 August. “Australia’s threat level would be increased to ‘high’ if it were deemed that a terrorist attack is likely to occur.”

In an interview Tuesday night on the ABC’s 7.30, Irvine declined to say precisely how many Australians had returned home from overseas conflicts. He indicated only the number was “more than 20”.

The Asio chief continued to play down the risks that Australia’s likely military involvement in Iraq would increase the risk of a terrorism incident at home.

Irvine noted that this was “a popular line that you hear” but he argued Australia was already a terror target.

The government has been telegraphing for some time its intention to bring forward legislation that will make it easier to prosecute foreign fighters participating in overseas conflicts. That legislation has not yet been produced. It is expected to be introduced to parliament when it sits later this month, in the week beginning 22 September.

Do you want to provide your source, Red? I just tried to Google ABS data on Muslim unemployment rates and came up with nothing.

It's strange. I went past Katoomba Centrelink the other day and they were all white Aussies. Newtown Centrelink's full of middle class kids with skateboards. Hurstville Centrelink's full of Chows.

Which 80% is true?

A quick squiz at your ABS data should sort this out, Red - thanks.

Unemployment doesn't automatically mean that all people are spongers abusing the right for entitlements. I go for a walk down the street and see many people from foreign countries who are working, from all races.
A majority of the problem is the fact that there isn't enough jobs for everybody, especially when they are continuously cut. You'll find that people do want to work -- yeah, there are a lot of spongers. Many of the spongers I know are in fact white people, who spend their Centrelink benefits on speed and wonder why they have no food/coffee/cigarettes two days after pay day but this is a different issue.

How can you expect everybody to have a job when all the corporations are tightening up and sacking people? I saw a glimpse on TV that Coles cut many jobs in Melbourne, yet they can afford to advertise their products on TV and pay some big name celebrity chef to promote it? Doesn't add up to me.

A lot of the time it's because of the government that jobs are lost, yet they're going to make a stand and tighten up on Centrelink as well? If you're going to be responsible for job losses, you can damn well support the people who have lost jobs in my opinion. And no amount of government paid schooling will get you a job if the job isn't there to begin with. This country is going to be a third world country the rate this is going.

The first bomb? That's strange. There's already been a first bomb, and it keeps being excused as somehow irrelevant.

And not only the first bomb - the first mass murder, the first shooting rampage, the first arson, the first random shooting spree, the first head-hacking, the first axe-murder, and every subsequent act of terrorism and carnage committed since.

Let the mosque support them if they cant get a job or alternately they can have a free flight back to their homeland

If they stay they should only qualify again after paying average fte tax for say five years.

Freedum - are you joking? Why would they be here? What other Country in the world invites you in, gives you a pension and health benefits then encourages you to keep breeding like rabbits so that the benefit cheque is very healthy indeed.

No other Country would let you sit on your arse with your hands out and gather it in ,like us suckers.

PS A life story. I had occasion to help a sick friend to go to the Bankstown Social Services Dept. after a workplace injury. I couldn't believe the line of our Moslem friends, it went through the building and out the door, waiting for their handouts. Bloody hell!!!!

Did you know that 80% of them are still unemployed after being here for 5 years (Source Bureau of Statistics)

Why indeed!

Unemployment doesn't automatically mean that all people are spongers abusing the right for entitlements. I go for a walk down the street and see many people from foreign countries who are working, from all races.

Yes, Freedumb, but I think you'll find that they're in the 20%.

We'll know for sure when Red publishes the data.

What data, I make it up Karnal, you want 1%.....O.K. 1%, happy now?  Even if it was as low as 1% it could still represent a Clear and Present Danger to our society.

Think it might be over 1% though, I don't believe David Irvine the Head of A.S.I.O. would be in the business of talking up a higher Risk Level from Medium to High without some serious basis.

Of course us being the dumb arsed public,  we will never know just how many of the towel heads are under the microscope. Just as well too, the truth would most probably frighten the devil out of Joe Q citizen.

Thanks for that, Red.

You were only 79% out, and you’ve forgotten what the data is actually about, but thanks for the clarification.

Scott Morrison was certainly struck dumb with this question by Leigh Sales. This either means that:

A. He’d never thought of this, he’s been busy with the boats, and his 70-odd media advisors hadn’t briefed him before 7.30, or

B. Guilty as charged.

If my town experiences ISIS followers running through the streets with knives slicing people's heads off I will arm myself and fight, and it won't be because of their race/religion it'll be to defend myself and the innocents.
And if there's a bombing... which is unlikely in my sh1thole town, well I guess there isn't much I would be able to do personally, especially if I was blown up.
That's something those "in charge" will have to deal with, and after investigating for supposedly a year and being aware of people linked to terrorists, I don't hold much hope for anybody.
If you could save the world by dribbling sh!t and no action, the world would be a peaceful place, but this isn't reality.

Good heavens, the Parramatta River’s miles away.

No, I was thinking more of someone paying a people smuggler to bring him to Australia in a suicide bomb vest and spending a few years in Nauru until he finally gets to dry land and takes out a few seagulls.

I mean, it could happen - before they stopped the boats, I mean.

Europeans are worried about getting their cars [parked in the street] scratched too.          :D

'Immigrant youths' in the Netherlands, protesting about how the locals have been 'persecuting' the moslem community.

What sparked the incident above, was a moslem man walked into a police station and stabbed a police woman.

She pulled out a pistol and shot him dead!

"POLICE SHOOT MOSLEM MAN, DEAD!"

!!!!!!!!

Of course, moslems living within Western nations are being 'misrepresented'.

Because what is presented and portrayed in that YT clip, is not representative of the real influence of ISLAM, upon moslems.         :P

Those who are 'the tolerant ones' know, that 'ISLAM is peace'...          :P

THE TRUTH...
In localities where moslems are [still] politically weak or 'thin on the ground',
....moslems portray ISLAM, as a benign and non-threatening philosophy.

Later, when their local circumstances and fortunes change, and when the moslems feel 'politically' confident enough [to expose their real nature, and their real agenda/intent!], the moslems will explain [very 'sincerely'      :P     ] to the locals, that the moslems are only punishing them [the locals] in retaliation, because the locals have been 'persecuting' the moslem community for so long. And it is only justice, to now punish the non-moslems, because the moslems now can do this!

Moslems always, always, always, justify moslem violence as justice, and as rightful retribution.

ISLAM makes lawlessness, LAWFUL, to the moslem.

Lets not [non-moslems] go down that path ourselves!

It is lawful to use violence to defend yourself, but do not strike out randomly against moslems, UNLAWFULLY.

What can we LAWFULLY do ?

I believe that the great majority of Moslems here are law abiding and just want to get on with it. What Australia is concerned with is the fanatical fringe.

Unfortunately with the Moslems that follow, ISIS, ISIL, they are embarked on a Jihad.

Because the leaders of ISIS in the Middle East have called for their followers to attack 'their enemies' in the West.

What we have happening now is a 'perfect storm' of opportunity, motivation and training, meeting.

Jihadists have and are returning to Australia having 'fought for the cause' in the Middle East. These people are highly trained and extremely dangerous.

To a small percentage of the Moslem Community they are feted as heros. The idealistic youth are perfect targets for these trained fanatics to put martyrs in the field who would willingly carry out terrorist acts, even at the cost of their own life.

Anyone who thinks that this process is not already in train is living in cloud cuckoo land.

I hope and pray that it won't but I am convinced that it will at same stage in the not too distant future.

Our Intelligence agencies have thus far done a first class job. But there will come the time that 'sleepers' will slip through the net.

And that will be a game changer for our society as we know it today.

That is ABSURD red_baron.

Your statement offends reason and teh known facts about - the established doctrines - of ISLAM.

A moslem does not believe in Allah ?

A moslem does not respect the commands of Allah ?

A moslem does not believe in the doctrines of ISLAM ?

Isn't a moslem a follower of ISLAM ?

But DL, you always respond to my mindless drivel, and I am always grateful that you do. I'm always up for a chat, so please keep reponding.

I agree that any Islamic atrocity on Australian soil would be a huge tragedy with no happy endings for anyone. How could anyone possibly disagree with that?

However, you place quite an emphasis on the inevitability of this. Could you possibly know something we don't?

Personally, I think the likelihood of you having inside information on an impending atrocity is quite unlikely. We know that all the atrocities committed on Australian soil have had nothing to do with the Muselman. We know a few Australian Muselmen have been caught discussing potential atrocities on the phone - they were all convicted and sent to jail.

That's all.

If you know something we don't, please post it here so we can have a more meaningful chat and avoid any mindless drivel. Unless you do that, how can we possibly confirm the inevitability of Islamic-inspired atrocity on Australian soil?

We can only confirm that every atrocity committed so far has been inspired by non-Muslims. As we've discussed, the only terrorist bombing committed on Australian soil was, as all evidence shows, most likely conducted by the then Special Branch of the NSW Police.

All other atrocities were committed by either non-Muslim organised crime groups, extremist political organizations, or various nutcases. There is no dispute about this. It's all been investigated, prosecuted, and proven beyond any reasonable doubt.

At present, your argument is based solely on your subjective belief - belief that, until you show otherwise, is pure speculation. Framing your belief from the possible to the inevitable with the conjunction when is merely rhetoric. We both know this.

I'm attempting to make this point clear because I know you have high standards. I'd like us both to avoid mindless, speculative drivel, and I'd like us both to continue responding to each other for many posts to come.

Gee Karnal hope you're right about your call. Perhaps deep, deep down they love us to a man. But then...I think back to the conversations, I used to listen to when we had the phones off at Telephone Intercepts and how the young ones spoke almost as good Australian as you and I.

Would it surprise you to hear that I heard naughty words like,"Infidel  f.....g pigs..we will take their women and rape them then throw them to the dogs..."And you know, related kind of nasty stuff like that...and that was years ago.

Wonder if they've found 'serenity now' since then.

Wouldn't like to roll the dice on that one.

No, I was thinking more of someone paying a people smuggler to bring him to Australia in a suicide bomb vest and spending a few years in Nauru until he finally gets to dry land and takes out a few seagulls.

I mean, it could happen - before they stopped the boats, I mean.

Funny how the security rating keeps going up though.

Anyone determined to do that would most likely fly in first class with Morrisons border patrol waving them through security with open arms

It wouldn't be unprecedented. In the days after September 11, Dick Cheney personally arranged to have Osama bin Laden's brothers flown out of the country in a private jet.

Two years later, Dick organized the invasion of Iraq.

Thank heavens the grown-ups are back in charge.

Thanks, Red. If I can attempt an interpretation of your rather inscrutable post:

You worked for a stint as a Telecom technician. You overheard people talking on the phone. You don't know what religion they were, but they said all sorts of mean things about whitey.

So if we are going to judge entire religious communities by the extreme actions of a few within, then how should we feel about the Catholic community?

Quote:
Catholic order had 'pedophile ring' in Vic

A pedophile ring within a Catholic religious order in Victoria subjected boys as young as seven to pack rapes and severe beatings and covered up two killings, a victims' advocate claims...

There are also fanatical Jews in Australia who promote books which endorse the rape of non-Jewish women and children.

If we are to go down the path of judging whole groups by the actions of a few, how should we feel about the ADF?

Confidential documents reveal that hundreds of military personnel have committed sexual offences within the past five years, some involving children.

The documents, obtained by The Australian newspaper and seen by the ABC, indicate that almost 400 ADF members have been identified as persons of interest over sexual assault and related offences since 2008.

The figures also show that almost 70 non-assaultive offences have been committed against children, including incidents of child grooming and the distribution of pornography.

The overwhelming majority of personnel identified come from the Army, including officers, soldiers and reservists...

red_baron,

You are again, stating another ABSURD proposition [regarding moslems] red_baron.

And you are demonstrating to the world your own ignorance, of the laws and tenets of ISLAM.

red_baron,

Do you know anything at all, about ISLAM and ISLAM's doctrines ?

I would suggest not.

Because if you did, you would know that ISIS - ARE NOT - 'butchering Moslems by the thousands'.

Why so ?

Because moslems are the innocent people [i speak as a moslem would speak], and it is completely unlawful - in ISLAM - for a moslem to kill a fellow moslem.

as per....
"......If a man kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, to abide therein (For ever): And the wrath and the curse of Allah are upon him, and a dreadful penalty is prepared for him."

red_baron,

ISIS are butchering infidels and apostates by the thousands - in Syria and Iraq.

And that is a very different matter!

Here, for example, are two very illuminating passages from the canonical Life of Mohammed by Ibn Ishaq, as translated by A. Guillaume, and a third passage, from the earliest known Muslim historian.

Ishaq: 204 - "'Men, do you know what you are pledging yourselves to in swearing allegiance to this man [Muhammad]?' 'Yes. In swearing allegiance to him we are pledging to wage war against all mankind.'"

Ishaq:231 - "Muslims are one ummah (community) to the exclusion of all men. Believers are friends of one another to the exclusion of all outsiders."

And here is Al-Tabari, a very early Muslim historian, in book 9, chapter or section 69, reporting words that Muslims believe to have been said by Mohammed himself - "Killing infidels is a small matter to us".

These texts are not fossils from a distant past. They are not dead letters. They are still 'live' and carry tremendous weight in the imagination and practice of many Muslims around the world.

Forgive everyone everything, bottling up hate is a one way ticket to self destruction. love is the most important thing there is in life, don't judge too harshly, be at peace with the universe.

Matey don't get so hung up. Did I not say that the great majority of Moslems just want to get on with their life.

They only have to be successful once, to prevent an attack the security services have to be successful every time and balance protection against abuse of civil liberties.  To be successful everytime is an impossible burden for security service.

Karnal I have had a feeling for some time that the Government has been holding back on us the public about 'what is really going on out there'.

Just got through watching Tony Abbott lift our Security Warning from Medium to High which as you know means a terrorist attack is likely.

Dr. Keith Suitor the Foreign Affairs guy on 7 seemed to agree with what is happening.

I think it is fanciful not to believe the game has changed. Over 60 Muslims have returned from the Middle East having been involved in some way with ISIS.

They represent a huge danger to our society because the only message they are going to preach, is the Jihad against ISIS' enemies. Include us in that total.

The young can easily be swayed by powerful images from 'believers of the Jihad'.

This is the problem. If only a small percentage of Muslims sign up for it, then we are in for the high jump.

I hope I'm totally wrong on all this but my experience tells me I'm not.

PS Karnal, no, when I was in Telephone Intercepts there wasn't any terrorism thing going on in our Intercepts, which were mainly, Murders, Armed Robberies, Drugs that kind of thing.  But I am going back over 10 years.

have you noticed over the years the church tends to put the prices up as well...did Jesus ask for alms??....I dont recall that in the bible...but I am sure its there hidden in someone interpretation.. ;) ;)

some folks would rather see a child die that give them life saving blood...staggering...I am sure the good lord would never take anything out on a child..no matter what.

And some folk would rather see a child die than support foreign aid. Staggering. As far as the "good lord" goes, didn't he invent nature?

do you think foreign aid gets to the children?

Is that your excuse?

Edit: Money siphoned off along the way is a problem, no denying, it's not an excuse to do less and let children die, which is what you were so concerned with a couple of posts ago. There are things that need addressing, but cutting aid is not one of them if you care about children dying. Things like Women's Bank is working well in some areas. Aid certainly needs better targeting but cuts do not do anything constructive.

Maybe you're right, it's just too hard and costly, we should let 'em die, it's just nature. There is no "good lord" to save 'em, they are f'd.

It was, however even though the Victorian Police who investigated her frauds, had plenty for a prima facie case, they fell at the last hurdle because they didn't have the pump to put a former Prime Minister before the Courts.

I got nothing wrong at all, I was right, all the way down the line about that lying fraudster of a bitch!

Her performance at the Royal Commission was a joke, she should be tested for dementia, her memory was laughable, not to mention a key missing document that conveniently disappeared, perhaps David Copperfield the Magician swung by.

Now, I'll just go put on my Sou Wester, whilst the usual sh.tstorm blows over the site, as a result of my fair comments.

The lottery results that you take so much pleasure in "predicting" - the redeployment in Iraq - has been played out on cable news, talkback radio and the tabloid headlines for the past month.

What a prediction. Sounds like you’re confusing the results with the price of the ticket, son.

Are you insane? This country has no ethnic conflict, no Muslim separatists, no Maoist insurgents. We've got no land borders, and no disputes with our neighbours. We've got no refugees flooding in from a civil war next door, and no way to smuggle in weapons for armed struggle. We've got a well-paid police force, excellent surveillance and border security. There's bugger-all corruption, not a lot of organized crime, and no way to pay anyone in power to look the other way.

Check out the rest of the region - check out the rest of the world. You lived in Thailand for some time, Red, so I know you're not a complete dill. So tell me this - how does Australia rank on the old X factor compared to the rest of South East Asia?

PS Our X Factor rating? Well we are a Christian Country (mainly) Our neighbours have heavy complements of Muslims. (To our North)

I think our rating of High has been earned and it only took a week.

I'd say we're going up the charts with a rocket.

Excuse me for stating the obvious Karnal but did not 800 Police take place in terrorist raids on Muslims yesterday.

Wouldn't you say that they have reasonable cause to believe that there is a bloody serious threat out there.

Personally Karnal, I think you are carrying a lot of personal baggage with you, most probably from the Vietnam War. If that is the case then you have my complete sympathy, we all have our demons.

But to say that we are not under threat from sections of the Muslim Community is laughable and pathetic.

Would you like to look into your crystal ball and ask what those Muslims actually plotted, and how close they were to doing it?

Red Baron ~ I would like to join Karnal's Dead Cat Society, but I somehow feel he would resent me taking away some of those that he's become habituated to dragging around with him like some awful security blanket.

As with empty cans rattling and bouncing along the road in the wake of a 'Just Married' cavalcade, I think Karnal prefers not to share his grip on the strings to that score or so of Dead Cats that keep him company in his lonely vigil at the top of that Ivory Tower.

Well Karnal, given your locale perhaps you could drop in and have a straight up expresso or two with them and discuss strategies at large.

After all, you are Johnny or rather Karnal on the spot.

I will say this much Karnal, anyone who has been in the Military during a time of war, can easily see what is unfolding here.

I know it amuses you to press the buttons and get the likely responses.

You are an experienced man and I'm sure you can see the big picture.

There hasn't been anything I have said or projected which hasn't or isn't going to happen.

You don't have to be Einstein, to work out that the Jihadist Muslims in our Community, are just waiting for the chance to prove how great they are before Allah.

As the Magician once said, "all will be revealed'.

Tell me about it. A government fails badly on domestic policy and leans on the fear drummed up by their friends in the media.

I'll grant you, it's not a textbook case, but it's close. Tony Abbott had some troop deployment announcement yesterday which was overshadowed by the Federal Police's press conferences, so it's not all going to shedule.

Also, the Feds' investigation into all this started in May - well before the budget was released and blew up in the government's face.

But my crystal ball tells me the troop redeployment in Iraq, the heightened security upgrade, and a head-hacking plot thwarted in its tracks are all too convenient for the government. I know that this is not some trumped up PR stunt, but the timing is impeccable and even proportionate to the popular distain for the Abbott government.

And as usual, the Daily Telegraph's bleating out the Pravda-style pronouncements, a two-pronged propaganda attack with with Fox News doing its work in the heart of the empire.

Abbott has recaptured the security agenda with perfect timing - on the foreign and domestic fronts similtaneously.

I can see what's unfolding here, and something tells me all is not what it seems.

Those 'body-builders' are almost all homosexuals who moonlight as 'oiled hunks' in gay magazines, and would be totally useless if Ahab the Ayrab came swanning into view with a bomb-belt and his hand on his ... er ... detonator.

Seeing that I never go to Lakemba John, the likelihood of me seeing anything there is slightly remote, wouldn't you think?

I mean let's face it, you could get a more comprehensive opinion off a corn flakes packet

'Strands' are slack like 'strands' of hair. They are packaged as rods that you can play 'Pick up Sticks' with.

An individual strand is called a piece of spaghetti or a strand of spaghetti, or rarely spaghetto, derived from the Italian form.

In Italiano it might be a 'strand', but in English it's called a 'rod'.

Capisce?

Rod = Asta

Strand = Filo

Filo pastry is thin sheets of ...

Asta is 'Pasta' without the 'P'.

A head-hacker once managed to get into.Buckingham Palace. He snuck past the Beefeaters, all the security guards, SAS snipers, etc, He climbed up a wall and made it into Lizzie’s own bedroom.

Lucky he changed his mind about the head-hacking. He settled on telling the Queen one of his poems.

Unless you’re  royalty, dear,  I’m sure you’ll be safe.- or a literary critic.

Maybe we should get a police watch on the old boy. He was quoting Yeats the other day.

You see John, this is what happens when you take your eye off the ball.

You've come in fast and late with your usual sprinkling of confetti, which has about as much substance as confetti.

I have canvassed long and full on this post I started about the threat to the world that ISIL represents.

The main thrust of my argument is that ISIL is carrying out Genocide in the Middle East.

When the Coalition withdrew from Iraq, we did so with indecent haste and without ensuring that the instruments of steady Government were there.

This created a power vacuum, which ISIL which was   entrenched in  Syria saw an opportunity to act.

Act they did, they have carried out mass genocide on innocent people both Christian and Muslim alike the latter if they don't switch to ISIL's version of Islam.

Also members of the Australian Muslim Community are volunteering to go to Syria and Iraq to join up with ISIL and follow their Jihad. Later these fighters come back to Australia where they infect the mainstream Muslim Community here with ISIL's message of hate against us infidels.

We are morally bound to help Iraq which is under siege from ISIL as is the U.S. and other members of the Coalition of the Willing.

We need to go back and finish the job and totally destroy ISIL.

The raising of the Security level here is totally warranted, the enemy are already within the walls.

It was on the news last night: An intruder scaled the fence of Buckingham Palace and made it all the way across the wide space before slipping in through a door, at which point the alarm was raised.

A CCTV camera showed a couple of negro security guards rushing from the outer fence across the wide compound to play 'catch-up' with the intruder who was by then already within the palace.

An immediate sacking would be my response to their slack performance, but this won't happen of course, because of white paranoia about being accused of racism.

Good to know, Herbie. It was’t the white head-hacker’s fault, it was the negro security guards all along.

And we all know the negros were Muslims.

I'll bet a bird-cage to Buckingham Palace that those coloured lads were taken off the dole queue and given that job as an exercise in pro-active discrimination ~~ and to pepper the Queen's staff with a few visible African types in order to keep the Homies in their East London ghetto from becoming too fractious and vocal as happened when one of their more recidivist drug-dealers got shot.

•Tony Abbott: Some freedoms may have to shift

Followers of the Islamic State terror group are being urged to attack by any means possible civilians of the West, including Australia, in a chilling exhortation posted online by the militant group's chief spokesman.

In what is believed to be the group's first blanket call to violence against countries planning military action in Iraq, the statement attributed to chief Islamic State spokesman Muhammad al-Adnani mentions Australia three times amid page after page of apocalyptic threats against "crusaders".

An image allegedly shows members of Islamic State, including Abu Omar al-Shishani (left) and ISIL sheikh Abu Mohammed al-Adnani (right), whose picture was blurred from the source to protect his identity, at an unknown location in Iraq or Syria.

"If you can kill a disbelieving American or European – especially the spiteful and filthy French – or an Australian, or a Canadian, or any other disbeliever from the disbelievers waging war, including the citizens of the countries that entered into a coalition against the Islamic State, then rely upon Allah, and kill him in any manner or way however it may be," the statement says.

"Do not ask for anyone's advice and do not seek anyone's verdict. Kill the disbeliever, whether he is civilian or military, for they have the same ruling. Both of them are disbelievers."

Over 11 pages, the statement unrestrainedly urges followers towards martyrdom, telling them they are "like predatory warriors" who "face death with bare chests".

It comes just days after police smashed an alleged plot in Sydney to kill random Australians on camera and also as world leaders prepare to meet at the United Nations in New York to discuss how to combat the problem of foreign fighters travelling to Iraq and Syria.

Al-Adnani is regarded as the most authoratitive spokesman at Islamic State, also known as ISIL. The statement represents the most concrete threat yet to Australia by the group's leadership.

A spokewoman for Prime Minister Tony Abbott said on Monday that the statement is considered to be an authentic statement from the terror organisation.

"Australian agencies regard the statement issued today by ISIL calling for attacks against members of the international coalition, including Australians, as genuine," she said.

"ISIL will claim that our involvement in this international effort is the reason they are targeting us, but these people do not attack us for what we do, but for who we are and how we live."

Mr Abbott opened question time on Monday with a speech warning that some freedoms for Australians may need to be restricted to prevent attacks from terror groups.

Chilling threats

Disturbingly, the statement attributed to al-Adnani also offers itself as a final declaration, telling followers they need no further permission from a Muslim cleric.

It calls US President Barack Obama a "mule of the Jews" and Secretary of State John Kerry an "uncircumcised old geezer".

In apocalyptic tones, the message goes on to declare: "O soldiers of the Islamic State, be ready for the final campaign of the crusaders. Yes, by Allah's will, it will be the final one."

The statement threatens not just to beat back any military campaign in Iraq and Syrian but also to go on the offensive, even if it takes generations.

"We will conquer your Rome, break your crosses, and enslave your women, by the permission of Allah, the Exalted," it says. "If we do not reach that time, then our children and grandchildren will reach it, and they will sell your sons as slaves at the slave market."

It focuses most of its fury on the United States but mentions Australia three times, urging Islamic fighters in various countries who are American allies to take up arms.

"O America, O allies of America, and O crusaders, know that the matter is more dangerous than you have imagined and greater than you have envisioned," it says. "We have warned you that today we are in a new era, an era where the State, its soldiers, and its sons are leaders not slaves. Being killed – according to their account – is a victory. This is where the secret lies."

It asks of Islamic State followers: "Why is it that the world has united against you? … What threat do you pose to the distant place of Australia for it to send its legions towards you? What does Canada have anything to do with you?"

The statement goes on to say that anyone who refuses to recognise the Islamic State's self-declared caliphate is mocking the Prophet.

It calls on followers to "fear not the swarms of planes, nor ballistic missiles, nor drones, nor satellites, nor battleships, nor weapons of mass destruction".

Just checked my Crystal Ball after reading this shite from Mohammed Abu - Al Adinar and I suggest you take just that little bit extra care when you're at crowded venues.

I'm not sh...ting you now, I am dead serious.

A specific call has been made to wage Jihad against us.

If you don't take that seriously, then you may rue not taking heed of very changing circumstances in our society.

The threat is here and now. I'm not being alarmist simply logical, given the evidence that is out there, that they are calling for heads...our heads.

Mr Baron, can you have a look into the tea leaves and let me know what they say about why the Government released what seems to be the text of a death threat to us?  What outcome was that release designed to achieve?

It wasn't Abbott who released that but the General News Services of the World.

A Federal Police Officer was stabbed multiple times and  Victorian Police Officer stabbed in the arm when they questioned an eighteen year old Muslim at a Victorian Police Station.

The offender was shot dead by the Victorian Police Officer in response to his attack.

The 18 year old had been under investigation for Terrorism plots.

No doubt Allah has greeted the 18 yr with the mandatory 72 Virgins.

it shouldnt be taken lightly red.. this is what extremism is about catching them whilst they are young and brainwashing them to hate...it isnt hard to do to youth lets face it.......they also teach them dying for the cause is an honor.... death holds no fear...

Yep, dropping bombs in the Middle East is in the mix, no doubt.  And I agree totally, stop dropping bombs in the Middle East.  In fact stop all aid, all interference and let them have at each other.  Negotiate with who ever is left standing highest on the pile of corpses.

Let's be fair though ~ it has nothing at all to do with Islam.

These beheaders themselves would swear on the Koran that it has nothing to do with Islam.

Anyone even suggesting this decapitation was somehow connected to The Religion of Peace is simply promoting a Fear Campaign to malign all Muslims throughout the world.

Yeah, it's on the news, but it says middle eastern appearance, not Muslim. Is there a difference? There's not enough info to go on yet, like witnesses etc. After all it could be someone like Red smacking themselves in the head and claiming it was the terrorists. Like "I was late for work so made up an excuse almost any Australian would believe and smashed my face a bit". You know, like those women who claim rape to suit their circumstances.

We awake today with the News that Iraq Intelligence has uncovered plots to bomb the subways of New York and Paris.

Markers flaring all over the shop. Stand by for the Muslims to rock your world.

Wasn't it great of our former Politicians to import this bag of snakes into our Country for us.

My instincts tell me this about to go to hell in a hand basket, I hope I am wrong. It won't take much of a percentage of Muslims here to go feral, to throw our society into alarmist mode.

Men threaten to cut uniformed naval officer's throat in Sydney attack

9NEWS

Australia's military personnel have been advised not to wear their uniform in public, after a navy officer was allegedly assaulted by two men who threatened to cut his throat in an early morning attack.

Police are investigating reports the officer was threatened by the men as he made his way to work in Sydney's north-west this morning.

The 41-year-old told police he was in full uniform when he was assaulted at Bella Vista at 6.30am.

He suffered minor bruising in the attack.

The men are described as being of Middle Eastern appearance.

A Defence spokesperson said officers have been told to use their judgment when considering going out in uniform.

Defence last week raised the alert level at all its bases and establishments.

The move came after the national terrorism public alert level was increased to high.

Just so I've covered the bases. I have reprised this pivotal comment of mine here, it appeared originally in, 'Not Concerned about the Middle East You should  be."

In the end it will be Christians versus Muslims.

The fanatical brand of Islam view Christians as 'Infidels'. They have already called a Jihad against the Western Countries.

This is going to be a long protracted fight. Muslims have established themselves in all Western countries to larger of lesser degree. Many of these Muslims are so called 'moderates'.

But if it comes to a knock them down drag them out War, they will side with their brothers.

We feel insulated here but never forget we have 500,000 Muslims amongst us.

It is highly likely that the 'new' conflict involving Western allies will be a long and protracted one.

You can expect reprisals rights across the west as local 'fanatical Muslims' endeavour to cripple us.

I can only see this War in the Middle East eventually becoming an ultimate struggle of East versus West.

Yeah, yeah, yay, a war.

...can't wait.

Hope it's a long messy one, complete with concentration camps, cities strewn with bodies strung from lamp posts and soldiers having to rely on piles of corpses as cover.

I just hope they upgrade the uniform so it's a cool looking one like the SS uniform. You just can't have enough skulls on a uniform.

Karnal, hope you are reading this thread. I watched the SBS Special on the 60's Vietnam last night.

It brought back a lot of information that I had forgotten.

For a start there were 6,000 U.S. Special advisers in South Vietnam when  the Government of Diem went to War with the North.

This increased to 60,000 so called Special Advisers by the end of one year. The reality was, the advisers were going into battle as Combatants and the stakes were being dramatically raised.

Lyndon Baines Johnson took over the Vietnam' problem after the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

The U.S. was worried that if South Vietnam went Communist, the other nations in South East Asia would fall under the Communist banner, in what the U.S. referred to as the domino principle.

Thus the stakes were raised higher and higher and higher in South Vietnam.

At its peak the U.S. had well over 500,00 military personnel in South Vietnam.

The end was inglorious and I can still remember the helicopter lift offs in Saigon for the lucky few who got away.

Now Vietnam is united and a peaceful Country.

It made me wonder just what is going to unfold in the Middle East.

Are the Air Forces of the Allies the thin edge of the wedge? Will we see huge commitments of troops across the board, a couple of years down the track in Iraq.

This one is going to be way different to getting rid of Saddam Hussein.

America was all about war all those years ago...G.I.Joe was still alive and kicking..things are different now.. a lot of water has flown under the bridge and very little to show for it..

everyone goes back to what happened years ago.. it is so irrelevant..no offense  meant but there is no comparison...

the West always thought they would change the world.. John Wayne always won in the end.... :D

but it hasnt happened..nothing America or the West has done has stopped the killing for the sake of killing...and thats what is happening now.. the Gaza or Syria..its all the same.. no one knows who the good guys are anymore...everyone is as bad as the other....

we can be very complacent living this far away...it hasnt happened here and we say it never will.. I bet there is almost no one who can say they have lived with bombs falling down on them day and night..

.when did our kids ever have to fear treading on a land bomb??>.. our kids dont know real fear or terror...and I hope they never do.. it isnt always the answer RB...I for one cannot think of anything else  the coalition can do..... but will it stop it once and for all.. I doubt it.

I support our involvement against ISIL but I'm getting a bit cranky around the edges.

It is all about the use of the 'W' word.

We are going on a 'Humanitarian Mission' and a support role.

Will someone tell me when this changes from such
a mission to a 'W.R' Mission.

For instance if our Squadron of F-18's totals an ISIL hangout and kills a few hundred ISIL into the process, are we then delivering humanitarian aid?

Personally I think we are at War but if the 'W' word is so case sensitive then what are we doing? Our boys in the F-18's won't be delivering Happy Christmas messages from Tony Abbott....or then maybe they will be.

They certainly will 'rock the house'.

The 202 SAS  soldiers going to Iraq in an advisory role.

Pull the other one it tinkles.

Trying to teach Iraqi soldiers how to fight is akin to getting a donkey ready for the Melbourne Cup.

Our  SAS soldiers will be carrying out tales of derring do. It is what they are trained for. May God go with them in their highly dangerous roles.

R.A.A.F. doing recon missions, meanwhile just over the border in Syria ISIL has just captured a major border town, Kobani,  on the Syrian, Turkish border  just shy of Turkey.

The U.S. Air Force was unable to stop ISIL capturing Kobani.

Not sure that is entirely correct, but the basic point is on the money.  IS will simply blend into urban areas (I do recall making a post about hoping the military had cut them off from being able to do that) and air power is useless.

Here comes the 7th Cavalry.  Let's hope no Australian soldier is among them.  We have no rightful place there.  None.

Kobani on the Syrian border could really use a hand as the Kurds there fight for their very lives. Meanwhile our boys are doing recce missions in Iraq skies.

Are we there to fight ISIL? If so, then a certain squadron of F-18A's should go help out the beleaguered Kobani.

The Kurds leaders there are pleading for more air strikes.

I mean this is a blush.t war. Whoops said that W..word again. Sorry HUMANITARIAN MISSION ;D ;D ;D

If they want to get rid of ISIL,  all the Coalition Forces must go and fight them where they are...not where they are not.

Which is the case at the moment. 69 Million dollar planes flying around checking the site seeing in Iraq, whilst the enemy is just over the border.

Either go take them on or get right the f...k out the place.

What happened with the break in yesterday at Bankstown Airport where there is no security after 9pm at night is a BIG RED CARD that demonstrates that even though we are at high level Security our Security is a total joke.

God help us if the Jihadists who walks amongst us decide to go on the offensive.
