Title: Glyphosate

That's Round-up to you.

In great swathes of Argentina, particularly the provinces of Cordoba and Chaco, traditional beef cattle ranching has given way to cropping - mainly GM soy.
You know the story about GM crops. They are going to feed the world right?
At what cost?

GM varieties were developed, inter alia, to make agriculture more efficient by allowing weeds to be sprayed without any effect on the crops.
Enter Monsanto with glyphosate. Only trouble is, like bacteria and antibiotics, weeds have developed a resistance to glyphosate.
No problem. Instead of spraying once or twice, just spray five times. Kill your weeds and fill Monsanto's pockets at the same time.

Stage 3. There has been an alarming rise in the incidence of miscarriages, deformities and cancers in the areas where the GM crops are sprayed. No such rise in other areas.
But the authorities, the growers, the sprayers say there is no problem. Monsanto says, provided its product is used properly, it is perfectly safe for humans.

I think we should follow Europe's example don't you? Or is it too late?

I think the 'misuse' explanation has a lot of merit. Farmers do some silly things, and I expect Argentinian farmers are worse than ours. They don't use PPE. They don't bother washing spilt poison off themselves, their clothes or their equipment.

I suggest better warning labels, like with cigarettes. Put a big picture of a deformed baby on the side and they might read the instructions, if they can read.
