David Cameron is facing embarrassment over the close links between a Government adviser on religion and an Islamist group placed under urgent investigation.

The Prime Minister last week ordered the security services to look into the Muslim Brotherhood amid fears its leaders, exiled from Egypt, are plotting terrorist attacks from London.

He said the inquiry would establish ‘the complete picture’ of the Brotherhood including its possible involvement with ‘violent extremism’ and its ‘presence here in the UK’.

But the investigation is likely to lead to red faces in Whitehall, as a scion of the Muslim Brotherhood’s founding family is a senior ministerial adviser.

Tariq Ramadan is one of 14 members of the Foreign Office’s Advisory Group on Freedom of Religion or Belief, chaired by Tory peer Baroness Warsi. He is Professor of Contemporary Islamic Studies at Oxford University, and was a member of a taskforce set up by Tony Blair after 7/7.

Well, let's give this current circus in Canberra a little more time before we make a firm judgment about them.

Abbott may very well end up as a Christ-like figure who saves us from our fiscal sins and becomes a cult figure to future generations of grateful Australians.

In total, 1,310 overseas convicts considered for removal were not sent home, up from 890.

Offenders not thrown out after serving their sentences included 15 murderers, five people guilty of manslaughter, 15 rapists, 140 robbers and 20 guilty of sex offences against children.

Foreign convicts are now avoiding deportation in one in three cases – a sharp increase on previous years.

In many instances, the criminals won the right to stay after lodging appeals, citing their human right to a family life in the UK, or other legal objections.

Brian is not so much a 'lefty' as a career-troll whose specialty is trying to undermine anyone who speaks out against the ideology of political correctness - which demands that immigrant cultures, religions and traditions are to be regarded as just as sacrosanct as those of the host people.

Political correctness abhors the notion that immigrants should assimilate with the host culture, but instead, they should colonise the host country while preserving their alien cultural heritage for all the generations to come.

Political correctness demands of the host people that they must not consider themselves to be in any way of a primary status, or special, or 'senior' within their own ancestral homeland to that of even the most recent immigrant whose race, religion, and inherent culture may be totally alien - and even antagonistic - to the host culture.
