A 10-year-old girl with profound hearing difficulties was allegedly raped several times by a cab driver hired to take her to school.

Sydney police charged the 64-year-old on Tuesday morning with eight sexual assault offences, including two counts of aggravated sexual intercourse with a physically impaired child 10-14 years old, after investigating allegations from late 2013.

No mention of racial identity and no name even though they do have this information.

Usually if its a white perpetrator the identity will be released quick smart along with photos.

I think you will find that most, if not all, jurisdictions already do this.

Maybe the driver charged with this offence has had no other relevant convictions to this.

I also think its shameful that Taipan is using this to push his tiresome anti-immigrant agenda.

When it comes to high profile crimes, such as this one or the ongoing saga of shootings in Sydney or a series of rapes, I can't see why we should not be entitled to a racial profile.
How can the public be properly informed about the effectiveness of immigrant or refugee screening if this information is to be deliberately withheld from us?
Maybe you believe there should be no public awareness of racial crime profile, whether it's black, white or anything else.
In my view there is far too much withholding of identities in criminal matters. It should not be beyond the capacity of justice authorities to protect the identities of victims while allowing the public to see who is being charged with heinous offences.

Yes, our little Tadpole is full of hate. Projection more than likely, these people generally have inferiority complexes due to some perceived inadequacy (i.e, small penis etc.) and seek to project their personal dissapointment onto others.

I want to know if its another non-white on white crime. Or more correctly a non-Australian on Australian crime as I don't accept most non-whites as being Australian.

The media tries to keep non-white on white crime under wraps. On the other hand if its a white perpetrator you'll hear about it. Its been going on for years.

So another way of putting it is; I want to keep tabs on how much damage multiculturalism/multiracialism is doing to my country. Violent crime is just one part of the damage that's being done, its actually happening on a number of different levels.

I can only respond from a Queensland perspective. To get a taxi driver's licence, among other things, you go through a Police check. A conviction of a taxi driver for an offence like this, involving the use of a vehicle, would automatically lead to a disqualification of not only the bloke's taxi driver's authority, but also his normal driver's licence. Keep in mind, that if this bloke is convicted, he will be going to prison, and if he gets out, he will never get a taxi driver's authority.

If someone has been only charged and is yet to face a court with the alleged crime involving a child victim, then knowing the name and details of the accused serves no real or valid purpose.

If they are then found guilty, and there is no chance of the victim being outed due to the release of the perps name etc, then by all means release their details.

She did not report him in 2013, it was reported in 2009, when the girl was only 10... What difference does it make now, I don't understand why you'd find it more disturbing , than the fact that the girl was raped. Are you saying it doesn't happen? Or are you saying that it's uncommon to commit this crime for an ethnic taxi driver?

Not reported until 2013......that, to me, is disturbing both from the victim's perspective and potential community risk over the 4 year period of time..

Should the fact that the offences were not reported until around four years later make any difference? As can be seen from a lot of the cases coming to light over the last few years, such a delay (or even greater) is not unusual with child sex offences. It certainly doesn't lessen the seriousness of the charges.

Actually, it doesn't mention that the girl reported in 2013, the detectives received information. Who provided this information, how long since they knew about it? it seems nothing is revealed at all, so far we only heard that someone did something sometime ago, we don't know who it was, we don't know how the Child Abuse Detectives made those inquiries, and how long they were making them. I can only see that this is just another ugly story of another d1ckhead unable to control his d1ck, happens very often.
What about the girls who were circumcised earlier in their lives, and it was only discovered years down the track, or that five year old starved for few years until his brother finally reported the incident.
But I agree, it's disturbing that it takes a while to make any inquiries, this has to change.

Children lie. I'm not saying thats whats happened in this case, but it does happen. Thats why I'm not comfortable with any naming until guilty.
