You don't have someone elses name in your signature. By the way, are you on the payroll of Ford?

The need for attention

Human beings are social creatures and need social interaction, feedback, and validation of their worth. The emotionally mature person doesn't need to go hunting for these; they gain it naturally from their daily life, especially from their work and from stable relationships. Daniel Goleman calls emotional maturity emotional intelligence, or EQ; he believes, and I agree, that EQ is a much better indicator of a person's character and value than intelligence quotient, or IQ.

The emotionally immature person, however, has low levels of self-esteem and self-confidence and consequently feels insecure; to counter these feelings of insecurity they will spend a large proportion of their lives creating situations in which they become the centre of attention. It may be that the need for attention is inversely proportional to emotional maturity, therefore anyone indulging in attention-seeking behaviours is telling you how emotionally immature they are.

Attention-seeking behaviour is surprisingly common. Being the centre of attention alleviates feelings of insecurity and inadequacy but the relief is temporary as the underlying problem remains unaddressed: low self-confidence and low self-esteem, and consequent low levels of self-worth and self-love.

why do [mostly] lefties need to use the signature

it  now appears moving [sigs] isnt enough, even comic strips..wastnt enough

it now has to be BOLD and COLOURED..

what is it about this attention getter??????..

do they have problems with being ignored?? maybe it was a sad childhood  maybe they didnt fully develop into adulthood....

at this rate it wont be long before the whole page is used by signatures..??

Hey, victim: eat something for breakfast you don't hate or something!

Repetition is hell they say.....m ::)

Some rules for signatures:

No external links or URLs.

No personal criticism of other members. This rule will be interpreted more strictly for signatures than for normal posts, due to their broadcast nature and the lack of right of reply.

Is there a rule for moderators changing your sig to be something rude (nice person)?

I vaguely remember this happening on a few occasions - so a precedent has been set. I think the signatures might have been offensive though.

For the record, I think you're a nice person too.  Can we have a group hug? - er maybe not. Would you have preferred "nice cat?"

I am trying to figure out if I am flattered..or miss the attention... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I am a bit of a star after all...

I would like it if muso explained that I did not complain once....as I have been advised..

I thought it would go its course..

and this was entirely a head office decision

I like the group hug idea... maybe another smiley for those.

It wasnt a "head office decision". It was muso interfering because he had access to the buttons. If it was a head office decision i would have been asked to change it or something wouldnt i?

I quite like this one, too... shame we can't use them, but I do understand why we can't.

The way you just did. Quote my post - but remove the quote brackets so the link starts and finishes only with the . You'll see it in your send reply before it's posted.

What would you like your signature to be?

Images are stripped from within quotes, so save wear and tear on scroll wheels.

Good idea. There's nothing worse than seeing these giant pictures included in one quoted post after another.
