Just came up.....
Click here. It is all about the agreement reached between Hayseed and East Timor about gas in 2006. It seems there are allegations that Hayseed bugged the East Timorese private rooms during the negotiations leading up to that agreement.............giving, of course, Hayseed a massive advantage. The East Timorese are (rightly) staying that, in those circumstances, the eventual agreement is null and void. |

Like the lawyer said
Australia never used to be like this Another thing he said is that 'this won't be the end of it' Fascist Germany's got nothing on Abbott's Australia. Can Tony give us just one day when he doesn't cause a domestic or international sh1t storm. I want my old Australia back, the one where we had some form of decency. |

The ex ASIO bloke that should be flying to the Hague to give evidence has been arrested. News just in....they've cancelled his passport, so he can't go and give evidence. I hope the Hague courts will set up a video link so he can give evidence. It's wrong for a wealthy nation to steal from its poor neighbour, just so wrong! I hope East Timor win the case, in spite of Abbott sabotaging the evidence. |

Title: Re: Never act for East Timor.... Post by ImSpartacus2 on Dec 4th, 2013 at 9:39am
I remember Downer at the time going around saying how he wasn't about to compromise Australia's national interest for East Timor. Turns out the "national interest" was the interests of Woodside (Australia - which has a 33% share in the project) along with its international joint venture partners ConocoPhillips (USA, 30%), Royal Dutch Shell (UK/Netherlands, 27%) and Osaka Gas (Japan, 10%). That's what the "national interest" is now days and that's who ASIS was really working for when they were bugging the ET cabinet. How much did Downer know? He must have known it was going on and probably authorised it.

2006???????
Hang On, I'm sure we only spy under Labor & John Howard was East Timor's best friend? At least that's what I've been told by numerous Abbott supporters here over the past few weeks. Here's an idea/conspiracy for you. Howard only supported independence for East Timor so he could get his hands on the oil & gas. Had Indonesia still been in power imagine how much more difficult it would have been to steal these assets. In fact it could have started a war, so much for doing the "Right" thing as people like to think was done. |

Yes they did Bobby. That's why it's going before an international court. They know they are guilty as charged that's why the key witness is being held and has had his passport revoked. This is all about Alexander Downer, his mates are leading the charge to protect him, all roads lead back to Downer, the grubbiest politician that has ever existed. The story is headlines in the Guardian.....you'll have to look a bit harder to find it in the Murdoch press. Timor-Leste spy case: 'witness held, and lawyer's office raided by ASIO' reader comments: BillR2 Spying Bad Things 03 December 2013 11:32am There is absolutely no doubt that we thoroughly did East Timor over in the oil and gas negotiations. Downer even moved the East Timor's boundaries to Australia's huge advantage by arguing that the deep oceanic trench which happened to run much closer to East Timor than their normal boundaries should be split down the middle, giving all the advantage to Australia. The effete little prick was proud about how he'd done it. Still would be. Longerenong 03 December 2013 9:58am Just when I thought it could not get worse. And why is this Prime Minister shacking up at Australian Federal Police headquarters. We have seen he will stop at nothing to get his own way. We have known for a long time he has no respect for the letter of the law. Now it seems he is happy to break the law itself. If Abbott has indeed has caused people to brake the law he needs to be at least questioned by the relevant authorities. But he is in cahoots with the AFP. Post by pansi1951 on Dec 4th, 2013 at 12:50pm thanks Bobby I wonder what the international tribunal at the Hague will make of Abbott when the prime witness is called and the lawyer has to say he's not available sir, he's being held by the Australian government so that he can't testify. Like the lawyer said, he still has the evidence, just not the eye witness. There will be an inquiry into this, there has to be. Downer is going down! What some of you are missing is that both Labor and Libs have been briefed by ASIO into the details of this case and in the senate, Labor voted AGAINST forcing Brandis to answer questions. So what does that tell you? Labor, which has scarcely voted with the govt since losing office, has sided with the govt on an issue that could only embarrass the govt - not Labor.
Clearly they know something that the rest of us do not. I do find it disturbing and amusing that Labor criticises spying on timor but has no problem with spying by itself on Indonesia. |

Exactly. The stupid little blacks should be thanking us, not insulting us. Who do they think they are? I do hope Woodside is an Australian -owned company. At least Mr Downer could then be seen as a patriot, don’t you think? |

Title: Re: Never act for East Timor.... Post by pansi1951 on Dec 5th, 2013 at 5:47am The Attorney General will have to come clean and admit the lawyers office was raided to obtain evidence to protect Downer and the Liberal Party. I wonder if the lawyers at the hearing in the Hague will be "deeply disappointed" when they hear about this stealing of the key evidence and arrest of the key witness by government agencies? Timor-Leste’s ambassador to Australia said his country was “deeply disappointed” Australian intelligence agencies had resorted to raids against the tiny nation’s lawyer and star witness in the international hearing of spying allegations and thought “fair-minded” Australians would reject the explanation given by the attorney-general, George Brandis, as ridiculous. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/dec/04/timor-leste-spy-case-brandis-claims-ridiculous-says-ambassador |

What an ignorant old woman you are. Never assess a situation for what it is but first ask "Is my team being attacked" and if so "defend my team, defend them. Labors worse, labor did the same." Id rather give a preschooler the vote then to see a confused incompetent automaton like you exercise that function. Your approach to politics is entirely servile so why should we listen to anything a slave like you has to say. Think about each situation on its merits ignorant old woman instead of blindly going in to bat for your team. Yor an embarrassment to thinking human beings. |

Oh look the darkies should be scraping and grovelling at our feet for all we did for them. What cr@p!!!. You obviously have a fairy tale perspective on all this. Aust went into E. Timor for the commercial interests of Woodside and an international corporate cartel. The subsequent bugging of the Timorese cabinet room is strong evidence of that. Its not something a genuine well meaning friend would do. Are you seriously going to pretend Mr True Blue that that kind of behavior accords with the standards of decency you were brought up with in this country. I dont think so. Take your racist patriotic blinkers off and see the situation for what it is. |

Is it any wonder Mr Downer went on Lateline to tell the Libs to neither confirm nor deny any spying runours? What a patriot. If Labor hadn't got rid of knighthoods, Mr Downer would be Sir Alex by now. SHAME LABOR SHAME |

Title: Re: Never act for East Timor.... Post by pansi1951 on Dec 7th, 2013 at 8:09am Abbott's on a race to the bottom to see how many countries he can upset in a three year period. Protesters throw rocks at Australian embassy in East Timor ABOUT 100 protesters in East Timor have thrown rocks at the Australian embassy, with police responding with tear gas as a spying row intensifies. The protesters, mostly students and young Timorese rights activists, carried banners reading "Australia is a thief" and "Australia has no morals", an AFP correspondent said. The demonstrators, calling themselves the Movement Against Timor Sea Occupation, shouted "Australia, imperialist, capitalist!", and "Australia is a thief of world oil". "The Australian leaders do not respect the people of Timor-Leste because it's very small, very poor," the group's spokesman Juvinal Dias said. The embassy was guarded with just four police until a dozen more arrived and fired tear gas at demonstrators, saying they had no permit to protest. Deputy Prime Minister Fernando La Sama de Araujo says he is "not happy" with Australia's actions, adding: "We demand the Australian government stops spying on the lawyer representing Timor-Leste." http://www.news.com.au/world/protesters-throw-rocks-at-australian-embassy-in-east-timor/story-fndir2ev-1226776564105 |
