We were late starters to this series but we would have to say yes, with dexter a close second.


The end of the third series was a bit of a shock and can't wait for next year.  :)

Hubby's seen the whole series and read the books.

I stopped watching the series as soon as I detected the trend of good people ---> murdered whilst evil dheads (like King Joffre) ---> allowed to live, prosper and continue making everyone else's life hell.

I dismissed this as more cheesy juvenalia in the Twilight vein just from the incessant ads and chatter, so I never watched it.

He is the best character ( from what I've seen) in the series I reckon.

You can tell that he's done a lot of acting esp theatre work in his life.

NB. He was also good in Death at a Funeral.

sort of like the best parts of braveheart done in a "lord of the rings" type special effect.  many of the actors are famous stage performers and shakespeareans, not at all a teeny type show

I bet I'd find most of the dialogue cheesy and full of modern cliches, I'm sure the actors are great though. One of my favourite shows from recent years was Mad Men. Is it even in the same league as that, or is it just slightly above the pop culture reference laden dross that cable networks usually produce, that makes it seem good?

I resisted Breaking Bad for a long time, even though it's a quality show. It's the subject matter that bothers me, the slipping of social morals in glorifying drug/thug/gang life. It was just one of those red flags of civilisational failure for me, but I did see the last series. But there is a definate trend with such shows as Sons of Anarchy, in glorfying criminality and I am confident many people take their actual real life cues from what is considered entertainment. I think shows like Breaking Bad are a sign of moral decline, there is plenty of other interesting subject matter out there.
